Anyone watching this? It's like a mini holocaust, I didn't realise the sectarian problems were that bad in the Republic.
a Protestant woman and Catholic man who who each want a different education for their children, the Catholic church intervenes and boycotts Protestants who helped the woman flee, pretty sad.
why are you surprised by this?
I didn't think the sectarian problems were that bad in the Republic, in Northern Ireland yes.
i know people have have been called 'dirty prods' for being protestant and/or having english parents - luckily i've avoided this (being protestant AND having an english parent)
obviously there isn't the extreme cases like up north, with protestant and catholic areas - this is mainly due to the fact that most protestants would be up north anyway, due to historical reasons, the ulster plantations etc. also, a lot of protestants are in dublin, as this was where a lot of the english settled, and was known as 'the pale'
I never realised that, did u watch the end of it?
