I know burning vinyl
stinks to high heaven. I burned the second Van Halen record when I was a kid and my mum still hasn't forgiven me.

no, we are gonna burn promos ourselves...for some reason the pressing plant is asking for the cd master to be redbook standard, and its kinda unclear what that actually is or how to make sure what we have IS one...
bf
that's who we are using! Did you just burn the cd off computer using itunes or something? Standard audio cd?
bf
cool...maybe we should just send it and see what happens. I can't see how it couldn't work.
we are doing two hundred, but getting six hundred company sleeves printed...then planning to do another two runs of two hundred different singles. Hope that works out okay! ;)
I googled and found this
If you are going to make a CD for commercial release you will need a master CD with PQ codes, and one that adheres to the Red Book standard. Burning a master usable for duplication requires high grade media with very low BLER rates (error rates). I only use Taiyo Yuden Grade A media.
Dunno if thats of any use

Thanks, but I've looked at lots of links, found several threads on geek forums, but I'm still not sure how to find out whether thats what we've got.
The band have given us a two track cd that plays in every player we've tried, that has one track as a wav and one as an aiff...
I think any cd
with the compact disc standard is red book, I think it would be harder to burn one that isn't as I think it is just what a normal cd is, could be wrong though
