the original version. on my sweet criterion dvd. and get scared. ttfn.
good stuff. Not seen the original just the Keifer/Bullock one. It's her best performance to date.
it's good, not that scary though
what's the Jeff Bridges character like? It's dutch isn't it?
I know the ending's different though. It's Dutch but a lot of it is in French too.
One of my favourite films ever. Anyone who doesn't find the whole thing intensely unnerving and upsetting either hasn't thought about it enough or must be a bit inhuman!
I pity people who have only seen the dumbed-down remake as it destroys the experience of the original and is nowhere near as good.
which is the book. To be fair it wasn't scary :(
but the Dutch film is such an experience that I'm kinda glad I watched it first.
It's not 'scary' as such. It just plays mind games with you and if you have a tendency to think about things and have an overactive imagination (like me!), it will haunt you for months...
I agree with ever word. Except I'd have put two exclamation marks after 'inhuman'.
Very scary. thewarn scary.
at about 2 am. Freaked me up proper, like.
the remake is like frothy candyfloss
Why are people so either so intently evil or stupidly voyeuristic?
I'm going to watch metroland on DVD if your interested.
overrated to be honest. When it got to the end I was a bit 'meh'. Maybe I was in the wrong mood.
Spoorloos is a funny word though, so everyone's a winner.
is what everyone knows, so the hype makes you wait for that and of course its a letdown. i find it continuously frightening throughout...wonderful acting from the killer guy
I actually didn't know the ending before watching it. I did work it out before it happened though. I haven't seen the remake. Actually I didn't know there was one.
They did a remake? why did no one tell me
It's the banality of the killer that terrifies me most
I thought Dick Emery was a disappointing cameo.
TERRIFIED? You hyperbolating pansy.
I know that's not a real word, so back off, Theo.
(not knowing the ending) it was the ending that terrified me. But the next few hours thinking about it, it was the mundane man who scarified me up good and proper.
I'm definitely the hardest man in this thread.
about 'the true meaning of emo'?
what emo is except me. Last night I drowned Ian MacKaye in a bath of my own tears.
