i'm in portsmouth for the weekend
sorting out family shit.
i came about 11pm and teh locals scare me.
I don't like this city.
wedgewood rooms looked like the only decent place but last time i went it was the strange death of liberal england..and they were shit.
This is a strange strange city, albert road has this weird camdeny kind of feel to it and the second hand record shop has some amazing stuff..Bought the Fall's live show from my home town of prestwich here of all places!!!
but turn the corner and i can see why asylum seekers here walk the streets with heads down not wanting to cause trouble.
i don;t wanna offend people from pompey but i hate this place so far, and last time i brought a friend he tried to get back to london on Xmas day..it was that bad.
is there anything to do here apart from thr risk of getting knifed on my way to the co-op for some fags?
go to southampton for the day
Listen to
Jamie.
For real.
It's an utter shithole.
Other than Plymouth it has to be the worst centre of population on the South Coast.
Basically, anything halfway decent is in Southsea, the other suburbs should be nuked from orbit.
I would disagree with you
I can think of many more places worse than Portsmouth along the coast. Ever been to Hastings?
how long does it take?
i saw a bus saying southhampton..
then another bus for brighton?
brighton?
not even a coach..a bus..brightons miles away though
I'm going to
portsmouth today.
my family live in southsea
just off palmerston road where all those bars are.
just went out nice day today.
all the good shops in albert road are shut now.
# but still something depresses me about this place.
you were probably lucky
with the weather being nice today
i dont know anyone here
i guess i can walk to gunwarf on my own and maybe catch a film.
i just need to get out of this house before i get done for fratricide :(
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I don't think it is that bad
Apart from late at night around Guildhall Walk or Somers Town I've never felt unsafe there. Albert Road is pretty cool, I got a live Cramps LP for £5 in Soundz last year.
Oh yeah...
if you want watch a film then go to the No. 6 Cinema down in the old dockyard.
