Seriously, guys: get in now.
Probably gonna announce another support act next week.
It'll be A.C.E.
you buy me eurostar, I'll buy a ticket !
...I don't like trains.
I have an aversion to even looking at pictures of them.
How about we fly you over?
More seriously, I'm not even sure I'll be at Paris at that time...
Acts are confirmed.
Just leaving it a while so that the Russian Circles fanbase has the opportunity to buy, before tickets are swallowed by fans of the other bands.
Because I'd never heard of them, even in passing.
made a great review of their album last year !
I don't have enough time to read every single review posted on the site. And sometimes, even if I have that time, I don't want to as I've never heard of the band.
about bands I don't know...
Have been mentioned a few times on DiS.
Their debut album, Enter, was reviewed last year.
They were the best band I saw at this year's SXSW.
They're supporting Tool at Brixton, twice, before their headline shows.
and then those that want to buy a ticket, can?
I can't be doing with all these guessing games. The last time we had them, it turned out to be a bit pony in the end.
I don't want to spend £12 plus travel from Nottingham unless I know it's going to be worth it!
the January 2006 special thing there was a big hubbub about super special secret headliners and it turned out to be pagan wanderer lu. I have nowt against pwl but we were told it was 'the biggest band DiS have put on' or some such guff.
Plus there were numerous rumours about a stellar line-up for the Christmas one and, admittedly, Guillemots was a bit of a coup but the rest was a bit disappointing.
...that show also featured Jeniferever, The Maccabees, Jamie T and Comanechi!
it did but that's not really the point, is it?
you can't repeatedly tell the messageboard that it's going to be special and expect us to believe you when that's what happened last time.
...booked bands that are among my favourites in the land, who sell out venues of a larger size, and who are big fans of Russian Circles... I guess we'll have to wait and see if we agree!
which meant i wasn't there, which meant it was bound to be balls
not heard russian circles but the supports sound great!
and not looking this up myself, but am in the smoke that night for the Sonic Youth show. Am I going to be way too late if I show up after that?
...be sold out so getting in on the night, after SY, will be difficult.
Show does go on til 2am, but live bands will be over by 12.
Going to be trocky then.
Or click to Russian Circles' DiS profile and follow the links.
clearly i've missed something
and some bands who we're not allowed to know about are playing at a DiS party.
Never heard of Russian Circles?
No idea who else is playing?
£12 if you're up for it!!
and I'll probably be coming, but seriously, just announce the lineup already. It doesn't build the suspense and make it magical, it really is just annoying.
...gotta. Otherwise it will sell out and I'll get moaned at by Russian Circles fans who weren't able to get tickets.
who'll moan because Russian Circles fans bought all the tickets.
This way of doing it just seems a bit like someone in the playground teasing you because they know something you don't.
Guess which nine year-old little minx with pigtails just smiled at the cute guy who lives on your estate in the corridor on the way to her classroom?
The cute guy was Eddie Vedder. Obviously.
a) Eddie 'Sorry, my hair got in my eyes and I wasn't sure what I was putting where' Vedder
b) Sarah 'Oh fine, just do whatever you want to do, I'm off to have another kid' Beeny
or c) John 'Putting estates in corridors JUST GETS TOUGHER' Torode
...cos the other bands are great. Very great. And can sell the place out - and larger venues - on their own terms.
sorry for moaning. I'll probably get round to getting a ticket soon.
I have a feeling Russian Circles aren't really my thing anyway. I was getting them confused with Russian Futurists.
I saw them with two people not really into techy instrumental music at SXSW, and both left saying it was the best thing they'd seen in aaaaaaages.
because they need the money from ticket sales first before knowing who they can afford!
Fees are agreed and available.
i thought it was bring a bottle.
"The Alfred Hitchcock of music promotion"
Russian Circles won't be there...
