  • I was once on a First Great Western train

that derailed just outside Southall station at about 120mph. I was scared shitless. But I got £200 for my pain and anguish.

  • is it weird that

this immediately causes me to congratulate myself for the fact that, despite travelling on the eastern section of the central line most days, I am not overly worried about such things happening in future, and have not once troubled myself with the thought 'it could have been me'?

Stand by for Episode 2: The One Where I Feel Momentarily Smug About 'Not Being That Arsed' About Terrorists.

      selfish trains.

      • I think not being able to get to Stratford should be seen as something good.

        Always.

Probably PocketMouse but the rest of us are happy to risk our lives by freezing bread / using escalators / breathing / etc.

      • I went past Mile End

at 11am. There's about 30 police cars and emergency vehicle response units and fire engines. I honestly thought a bomb had gone off.

        I hope people aren't hurt :(

        MirriLondon @HADDOCK | 5 Jul '07, 13:01 | X
        • 30 police cars for a derailed train?

Bloody hell- I suppose with the terror threat level being what it is they have to treat it as suspicious.

              • 3 hours

packed in with a bunch of narky southerners.

                • *horny narky southerners

I have no idea what narky means. Possibly because I am a southerner.

Also, come to think Tuesday evening, I was in the Liverpool Street area - crawling with cops.

                  They're up to something...

and i saw a couple of guys in different places there with their bags open and police talking into walkie talkies next to them.

i dont know what my point is.

              sophiacherryx | 5 Jul '07, 13:23 | X
              • There's a massive police presence

                everywhere at the mo.

                Anyway, the bbc says this:
