  • because

they're hard-nosed rebels giving the overbearing British nanny state one in the eye?

or because they're reckless criminals further dragging us into the age of Britainistahn?

    WHO KNOWS?

    guntrip | 3 Jul '07, 16:50 | X
    • I suspect it has something to do

with political correctness gone mad? And that we couldn't make it up.

      zxcvbnm- @guntrip | 3 Jul '07, 16:50 | X
      • you just made that up

        yo_soy_welshmun @zxcvbnm- | 3 Jul '07, 16:53 | X
        • he couldn't have done...

          surely?

          harru @yo_soy_welshmun | 3 Jul '07, 16:54 | X
          • maybe

anyway, I have no idea what a sheesha café is.

            yo_soy_welshmun @harru | 3 Jul '07, 16:56 | X
  • are yu allowed to smoke in them?

i can't remember if they were exempt.

    neecho | 3 Jul '07, 16:50 | X
    • they arnt

exempt at all, they will just be ignoring the new law on a ' but its my religion' basis

      fistyness @neecho | 3 Jul '07, 16:51 | X
      • that's balls

I'd love to see them get away with that :D

        harru @fistyness | 3 Jul '07, 16:53 | X
      • well it does seem unfair

to basically put them out of business. people go to these places to smoke, so they should be exempt.

        neecho @fistyness | 3 Jul '07, 16:54 | X
        • it's total bollocks

thoroughly shitty that they're not exempt. hardly like they're filled with indignant non-smokers coughing their lungs out.

          -gen- @neecho | 3 Jul '07, 17:06 | X
          • ^ exactly

they are made souly for smoking, so there's no innocent jo public being affected.
            the government is bloody silly.

            neecho @-gen- | 3 Jul '07, 17:07 | X
  • they are not exempt

and westminster council would loveto shut them all down.

but they;re still got them inside.

but then again,a quite a few of them are illegal in the first place.

    "no no..private party..again..and tomorrow..private party 365 days a year" and all that

    countzero | 3 Jul '07, 16:54 | X
    • cherie blair

is representing the shadiets of the lot..that place that looks like a horrible casino,

      countzero @countzero | 3 Jul '07, 16:55 | X
    • it was jampacked on friday

      and saturday

      countzero @_vikram | 3 Jul '07, 17:00 | X
    • The one i go to go

makes us do it outside now, but I think they plan to introduce a private room, private members only therefor not open to the public..... u apply for membership on the basis ur a smoker

      Yesiamaduck | 3 Jul '07, 17:05 | X
      • private members clubs

        arent exempt.

but that vulgar casino place is fighting that case.

i hope most of them do go bust...

my favourite one is not a legal business anyway so they go on as normal!

        countzero @Yesiamaduck | 3 Jul '07, 17:07 | X
    • what about that

hooka lounge in brick lane? what have they done? cos their food is overpriced shit.

      nice cocktails though

      countzero | 3 Jul '07, 17:11 | X
      • last time i went there

i didnt havea proper meal the rest of the month.

both my friend and i forgot our wallets..i was closest to the place os i ran home and came back.

cost a fortune..then MY FRIEND decided to pay a massive tip out of MY WALLET for the inconvenience we caused.

still needed 4 bagels after as well!

i wonder what they did though...not much room outside for a a sheesha

        countzero @tartrocker | 3 Jul '07, 17:19 | X
        • i came back

          withthe money after they closed

          countzero @tartrocker | 3 Jul '07, 17:29 | X
        • how about they knock down a few buildings

and put tents up in their place? they they could have sheesha cafes then

          pieces_of_reece | 3 Jul '07, 17:24 | X
          • if they

turned them all into bus shelters maybe

            countzero @pieces_of_reece | 3 Jul '07, 17:25 | X
            • not a threesided bus shelter

              pieces_of_reece @countzero | 3 Jul '07, 17:33 | X
              • the ones

with poles and no sides. so the wind and rain can punish you for your filthy habit

                countzero @pieces_of_reece | 3 Jul '07, 17:49 | X
