BBC2 showed the last episode at 2:20am or something, and it left me so emotionally drained that i watched what they showed next as well, which was a zsa zsa gabor film about beautiful women on venus bewitching some hapless astronauts.
was ok, but kinda unfocused - chris carter took the first series in one direction, and then james wong & glenn morgan took it in another during season two. then season three changed completely again. then it got cancelled.
then chris carter did his usual cheeky thing of wrapping it up using the x-files ;)
sliders
LOL
i've been enjoying
jericho recently.
also also also if it's on the anime section, watch Serial Experiments Lain. you'll like that i think, it's like Lynch-gone-anime.
please don't lagh at me but:
deep space nine, captain sisko is so hardcore
Season 5 onwards only, though
And even they're ropey half the time.
edgy, gritty sci-fi?
i didnt know such a thing existed
course it does!
it's just not Star Trek. Lots of anime is gritty, edgy and sci-fi for a start off.
does the outer limits count?
i suppose that was always quite 'gritty' and stuff
The new Battlestar Galactica
If it's there. It's edgy, gritty AND bleak. It's also very very good.
go team Battlestar
We fragging rule!
frag yeah!
Has it got very very good since the so-so first season?
Because I was left feeling pretty 'meh' after that.
latter part season 1
yeh i know wot you mean..but season two very good and season three ti jsut goes nuts.
how long do we have to wait for four???
i prefer old battlestar galactica
and its camp disco star wars vibe
The new series of Battlestar Galactica
is good. Maybe not edgy though, it's gritty-ish. Maybe. I don't know.
The Year of the Sex Olympics
Quatermass
erm probably not on TV links
theres a tv program called the year of the sex olympics?
im scared to look on google...
it's a 60's thing
written by Nigel Kneale. Pretty legendary and not dirty like.
sounds interesting
i am still a bit scared to look for it on google though, hmmm
try this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Year_of_the_Sex_Olympics
to save on potentially dodgy links.
It was very prescient, predicting the rise of reality TV and the use of TV to pacify the masses.
that looks quite good
ive always found Leonard Rossiter a bit depressing but i may investigate further, cheers!
max headroom
the lost room
its not edgy or gritty, but its the only sci-fi ive seen.
i liked millenium
its was like a darker xfiles with bishop from aliens in it.
although i've not seen it for years and it might suck
space: above & beyond
was and still is really good if you don't mind dated cgi spaceships
I enjoyed this when it first appeared
shame it was canned.
i still have some of it on video
from when i used to tape it instead of staying up late to watch it. every episode starts with several minutes of old newsnight footage
i remember
BBC2 showed the last episode at 2:20am or something, and it left me so emotionally drained that i watched what they showed next as well, which was a zsa zsa gabor film about beautiful women on venus bewitching some hapless astronauts.
millenium had locke from lost in it
as well if i remember rightly, there was a crossover episode with the xfiles, that was good, i think...

You could try Masters Of Horror.
Not Sci-Fi exactly....
Is Lost Sci-Fi? Look who I saw come out of shop today:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0301370/
Blake's 7?
if you can ignore the dated effects and sets it's actually really good and surprisingly dark.
