A friend and I are taking a week out in August to go on holiday and we need help with destination.
Somewhere warm (so continent) would be ideal... but not too expensive, but close to coastline for tanning and swimming purposes. Also, must have good bars and preferably electro clubs for after dark activities. So I guess city by the coast is good (have done Barcelona extensively and that is an option).

I was thinking Paris but it shuts down in August (shame as know a perfect little French run hotel that has an old wrought iron lift and the entire family run hotel can't speak a word of English - right in the central district for 30 Euros a night - but it's closed in August).

Any tips? Coast of France, Italy, possibly even Greece would work...
