I think we would have anelka back in a shot. I certainly would. Trez won't come because Henry has left. Villa and Torres would be too expensive.
Arsenal have very few world class players left :D
Tevez would be a good replacement.
would be a good signing and at only £9m
Dublin and Van Persie
Yeah. Darren Anderton much?
of which we will spend about £300,000
Stantona was amazing.
Anyone else think it funny that despite all of the rumours about Henry over the years in the tabloids that absolutely no-one saw this coming?
you can't blame him for leaving, although you'd think we had gone into administration the way the papers go on about it all.
there has been the usual 'Henry to Milan/Madrid/Barca/Basingstoke' stuff in the papers, I didn't read anything about how Barcelona had agreed a deal and that it was happening Monday. As far as I know SSN were the first to it, and that was after it had leaked on Spanish radio anyway. I imagine that was the first that any British journo knew about it too...
but Elmander would be a good signing for Arsenal
he's keeping Zlatan out of the Swedish national team
he's taken Toulouse into the Champions League
He plays in France (so Wenger would have noticed him) and his National team captain already plays for Arsenal so...
plus he'd be fairly cheap
I reckon it's a possibility
errm.. Lee from Blue?
but I would've hated seeing Eidur in Arsenal red.
Anelka was the big player being touted yesterday - but would his changed ego survive in the ranks these days?! More trouble than he is worth I reckon.
bendter and walcott are enough of a subs bench to keep adebayor and van persie on fire.
although i've cried about it already, and called henry names - the more i think about it the better it might be for the team. less ego, less pressure on any individual, perhaps a new unity, that seemed to be missing even when henry was in the team , will grow.
plus, i dont like how henry is still going on about how much of a loss vieria was/is on arsenal as hes leaving? i'm learning to dislike him more by the day.
he was our leading scorer and he only played half a season.
for Metz when he was really young.
Absolutely shit !
Able to miss a goal while standing alone at one meter and shooting upside !
you won't say that again in a few months...
Boro are my 'surprise' tip for relegation
But it certainly won't be a top half of the table finish.
is a patient man, but I can see Southgate on his way by Christmas
Was just joking about french players that came to early in the UK and burn their wings...
He destroyed his career by going to Spain !
Cissé would be a great choice.
He's not too expensive and would easily score 20 goals a year for a team like Arsenal.
in his rightful place in Liverpool ( he's shit on the right wing )!
He still scored 13 goals in 49 league games and 9 goals in 23 C1 games.
harshly treated at Liverpool. Probably because he wasn't Benitez's signing.
He was very good in the last 3 months for Marseille.
I should have a little flutter on it
But that would be a great choice.
not less than 20M euros !
that's a lot
oh well - I think he'd do very well in the premiership but I don't think Arsenal would pay that much for him
Van Persie and Elmander would make a pretty potent strike force though
seems really determined not to let him go.
Meaning only for a lot of money...
And some spanish and italian teams were interested apparently so...
but very expensive choice.
I think Anelka would be the best bet. He seems to have matured.
Eto'o is top choice.
Trezeguet second, I still think there is a chance he could come to Arsenal. He is a Wenger old boy after all.
Anelka third choice, still a world class player on his day...it's just those days happen once every third week or something.
Johnson. Good finisher, quick and a good team player. Would fit in well.
as always. I still think there is mileage in the relatively-low £16million fee for Henry, it kinda looks to me like a cut-price for a cut-price theother way, which would mean:
Eto'o, Gudjohnsen, Giuly... etc
I still think it's essential to get someone experienced in to replace Henry...no more 'prospects' or it could be a very embarrasing season approaching.
He did sign Lehmann at 34 (a GK I know)...
