Whats the best way to trap/kill them if they are running amok all over your property?
Have you tried that one?
How much is mace?
just like Alice Cooper said.
glow in the dark skulls. doesn't get much better
I meant mouse trap
Just a total bastard to put together
even if i still owned the game, a real mouse isnt gonna hang around long enough to be caught in the cage, i would have thought.
let them deal with it
have a plank of wood as a ramp for mousey to climb
traditional mousetraps are hit-or-miss and messy
'humane' box traps - no point, you're just passing the problem on when you release the mouse round the corner
poison - seems to work but can make your house smelly if there are dead mice in the walls
damned if you dont :-(
for live snake food
humane mouse traps aren't that humane, loads of mice just die from the shock. Traditional mouse traps are probably more "humane" in the respect that it's usually a quick and easy death. I've never seen a mouse survive a mouse trap :(
We've just gone for moving out of our flat (Y) :D
up flush with a wall they run along.......flush the mouse out to run aloing the wall, with you there the mouse will run along wall into newpaper tube
(unless it isnt flush in which case it will run behind it...no good)
and stop there for a bit.......you will need to quickly seal bothe ends of the newspaper with your hands (do the end in the direction the mouse was going a microsecond before the other end.........have suitable large box/container with lid to hand to slide mouse into from newspaper (obviously if the box is too small this will not work.....i suggest large plastic bucket with shiney steep sides
I hate you all.
i really dont like the idea of killing them, but its very unhealthy to have rodents using your home as an adventure playground.....i think im gonna get a cat.
and my newspaper method is green, doesnt require purchase of expensive plastic trap
but i'll give your method a go creakyknees.
we think she killed her first mouse in the garden yesterday. well done Korky
When one of us contracts a debilitating disease from food contaminated with mouse shit.
im sure of that, i mean christopher walken eats some in mousehunt
but unfortunately, having them running all over your flat, cute as they are, isn't very healthy. Mouse wee on your plates?
I'd rather move than actually kill mice though :(
everything else is patchy at best.
seal up all the gaps in units and flooring
move food from any lower cupboards to as high a place as possible
they will soon bugger off
no need to kill mice, they are lovely creatures.
and then it is nature's "way"
if you don't kill them, more will come.
Being nice to animals is a projection of our collective anxiety about our impotence in the face of an impersonal modern society. It's a way of gaining mastery - like a capricious emperor who decides to spare his prisoners.
and it is the most foolproof method. However, I know in two places I have lived my approach has worked and they have not come back.
I am gay for animals though.
don't really like them
you could just learn how to shout "fuck off! You're trespassing and I'm calling the police!" in mouse
you have to reason with them, take the softly softly approach e.g "I really like you and your sweet little baby children but please go and do poo in someone else's cupboard as it is putting my health at risk. Thanks. Bye"
pretty inhumane though? We used humane traps and the poor mouse in it looked like it was having a heart attack, i thought loads of them just died of shock?
personally Ive been lucky enough to not need to use any kind of trap. They've gone of their own accord.
we did that once, and ended up with multitudes of baby mice :S
when i was younger, we used to trap them in a vase by herding them around the kitchen, then release them outside. If it was too cold/windy, we'd keep them in a box for the night and feed them cornflakes. Aw.
I once got to look after a box of baby hedgehogs. Cutest things ever. They had a little hillock made of a towel in the corner of the box and used to roll off it one after another for a game.
we used to get boxes of abandonded baby animals left at our doorstep, why people didn't take them to the vet i don't know, but my mum and dad are "nature people" so people used to come round all the time with armfuls of birds/animals.
We had one baby hedgehog once, but he had hypothermia and didn't survive :( we also once had a load of baby blackbirds, they lived in our back room for ages :D
My mum used to look after injured bats too, they couldn't fly but used to flop on their funny little legs around the living room and hide in the curtains :D
We always had lots of bats too.
My favourite was probably a baby pigeon which had no fur on most of its head, just open skull. It did fine though and ended up escaping.
we lived on an island so used to get a lot of oil slicked seabirds to wash. Most of them recovered well though :)
bats are great :D feeding them mealworms is a bit gross though :( When i was little i had a rubber bat with a bat bag and a syringe to feed it instead of a doll :D
did you live on a Hebridean island or something?
rats = no mice.
s carefully propped up so that the mouse knocks over the prop and traps themselves can make a good humane trap.
Classic traps are the most effective and humane. Well it splits their skulls in two but at least they don't suffer. Right?
Well for about an 1/8th of a second anyway.
living in my dad's golf club bag :D
I let it go outside, it was brown :)
you can get these electric things that you plug into wall sockets which emit a high pitche frequency that they don't like.
It makes them go away
