I just went for one, and was surprised at how therapeutic it was...
any other runners out there?
I go most days for a short run. Feels great afterwards.
to short sprinty type ones or are you a long jogger?
I just went out for about an hour, half of the time I was more or less ambling, half the time sprinting...
Probably because I was listening to Music, and whenever something fast came on I legged it pretending I was in some kind of film (65daysofstatic is great for this), and when something like Sigur Ros came on I stood there admiring the scenary
Your good self?
Wish I had an mp3 player. Well I used to go for long kinda slow ones. Then I saw this little book in the library, 'Run For Life'.
It was a good'un. It said that you can burn the same amount of calories as jogging for an hour if you just sorta sprint for 10 minutes. And apparently your muscles get harder. I need HARD muscles so I went for the sprinting option.
It makes you feel like you're in apocalypse now.
are there any films which actually have 65dos on their soundtrack?
If not, there should be...
if needs be, I'll write one
I do it a few times a week, but hate it
I just walk fast instead.
I did the London Marathon last year but only ran 8 miles because I'd hurt my knee :-( Some DiS-sers sponsored me!
Yesterday, I had my first run for several weeks and it felt great! I did 3.5 miles in just over 35 minutes so not very fast. I'm doing the New Forest 10 mile race in 3 weeks' time so I have to pull my metaphorical socks up and do some serious training.
Running is very good for me. I feel fitter (obviously) and more optimistic and happy. Mmm, endorphins.
But I don't smoke. I have felt quite sick when I've eaten something and not left enough time before running.
I even felt a bit sick yesterday during my run and I'd only eaten a choc chip Tracker bar.
on the treadmill where I'm bored of walking fast but too scared to start jogging which is the next speed up (bearing in mind I haven't shifted my arse in years). I have visions of hitting the STOP button by accident and falling on my face :(
Tried it with music, but my headphones kept falling out :'[
But this morning I did the Race for Life and I actually ran over half of it! I'm well please with myself but a little injured now :(
It all occured after the race which is good I suppose :|
not as many people finished as started ...
I was just fast enough to not get taken out.
