on bbc2 tonight.
so, i don't think i get it. i've not seen it all, but he got away with killing all those people? muh?
before he begins to pussy out in the later stages
all the best film bad-guys should allure you
(I missed it tonight as well) but I'm about to start the book.
Easton Ellis is definitely my favourite author. And Christian Bale's my favourite actor, so I love this film funnily enough. Strange, cos I only watch the DVD about three nights ago.
I do too...
Awesome awesome film though
The book and the film are equally great, but the book is about 10 times worse than the film, which seems like Mary Poppins compared to Ellis' novel.
Seriously, there's stuff in the book which made me think, why the hell am i reading this?
The Whitney Houston bit aswell...
"Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? "
or sleep with him or something. i forget.
a little from column b.
but the book bored me into quitting after 60 or so pages. all those painstaking descriptions of suits and interior design, i know they're supposed to set up bateman and the culture he represents but do they have to be written so tediously? *snore*
i think i'm about ready to donate my copy to oxfam next book clearout i have
donate it to me...
As much as I enjoyed the book, the descriptions do get a bit repetitive.
Still the bit where they all cream themselves over eachother's business cards is hilarious!
was on a BA flight to florida, on a flight full of holidaying families. they showed it completely uncut. i think i watched it twice.
thanks for posting this, anyway - i probably would've missed it otherwise!
when was this on? last night, being the 16th? or early hours of this morning? i really wanted to watch this!
Lunar Park. It's a much better book.
than Lunar Park. But they're all worth reading I think.
for the Postmodern Literature section of my degree. It was vile. I don't think I've ever felt so sick after reading a book.
It is a fantastic, brilliantly executed film.I watched this film so many times that I sometimes feel like Bateman does.
the story is brilliant, but the 'rat up lady' bit made me feel so I'll, I can't read it again. Apparently the film is much leass graphic.
but the performance of Bale is incredible.
because it has so much description of the murders.
Interesting points in the book: the women always die in long, drawn-out, nasty ways while the men are always dispatched quickly and with less fuss. Also, after every particularly horrible murder Bateman talks about his music taste.
