Things to do in Feltham - Urgent
OK I have a friend who has been shipped to Feltham for three months. From what he tells me this is the most boring and horrible place in the world.
Can you give me some tips about living in Feltham, things to do, whatever....
PS: he has no choice, if he doesn't take the free company apartment he has to pay everything himself and it is for a limited time only so there's really no point

yeah,
"free company apartment"
is that the place with the prison?
I can't help sounds like a nothing town.
there's
a youth correction facility I read (this seems to be the town highlight)
well,
it is in London. So that's gotta help.
but it's really far off
no underground station. Difficult to come back at night.
It has a
mainline station though, doesn't it? And isn't it quite close to somewhere like Osterley or Hatton Cross?
Between
45 mins and 1 hour to get back from central London. Last tube/train combination at 11:36 pm.
Feltham FC
used to play on a plastic football pitch surrounded by a running track. I was once an unused substitute for Hendon Reserves there. Other than that, a young offenders institute and an ASDA with some flats on top there's very little to do.
FELTHAM IS. SINGING OUT.
i thought this too
and didnt like myself for it
:)
Don't worry. I'm just glad I'm not alone. I think. Or is it better to be alone in this situation? Either way. Come back! Don't leave me!
we can get through this together...
or i could just pretend i never though it.
*thought
GO TO JAIL
GO DIRECTLY STRAIGHT THERE!
Get on the 285
Go to Kingston: it has shops, a nice riverside, and Banquet Records, which rules. Also Bacchus, the only good club in Kingston.
Or get off at Teddington, and go to Hava Havana for some fine Cuban cigars.
yeah
i recommend 'getting out of there'. Kingston is near and pretty good. Good small indie club (Bacchus) and some good clothes shops and whatnot. so in short: good.
Woo
Teddington! Sorry. I live there and that's the first mention it's got on DiS.
Big up yourself!
I come from Teddington, and it's good to see Dissers representing. The Abercorn Arms on Church Road is my parents' pub, you know it?
Yeah,
I think so. Is it opposite a school? Unfortunately I'm at Uni in Leeds now, so I only get to enjoy the wonders of Teddington for 5 months a year.
That's the one
Opposite my old primary school, which is next to a playground that's normally full of pikeys at night. My dad scares them away with one of those massive torches. Harsh reality of the hood etc.
Feltham Cineworld
Beat some pikeys
For me, just do it for me. I'll give you a pound.
I'll tell him
He's actually a black belt in street fighting so it will be a good way to make ends meet at the end of the month. 1£/pikey deal? I'll take a 30% cut.
tips
I lived in these areas for a while and of all places in the area (Staines, Richmond, Teddington, Putney )Kingston is probably the best.
However dont let that fool you....it is still an absolute shit hole, another horribly bland clone town with very little of anything apart from shopping centres.... your best bet is to find out how far your friend's place is from hatton cross tube station.
when he enters
the communal dining room of the 'free company apartment'...tell him to pick a fight with the meanest 'resident' there.
He'll have bitches in no time.
Hey!
Kingston isn't that bad. It has some nice pubs, one nice club and some crap ones and an ace record shop. It does have two or three Starbucks, though, and it is a bit cloney, I'll give you that. But by and large it's okay if you avoid the crap bits (The King's Tun, Oceana etc).
Teddington has the Teddington Cheese: best cheese shop ever. Your move, Feltham.
