vs cluttering up your room with things you have no real use for.
and the winner is..?
it depends on what the present is. what is it?
is so awkward, always have to express some fake joy like these pair of socks are the best present you have ever recieved, unless you feel like a cunt.
"Great. I've always wanted one of these."
"A bookmark. Wonderful. I haven't already got 200 you've already given me".
Actually, my relatives buy me nice things.
it does feel very wasteful. It's why I rarely buy cards or random presents as you know they will just end up in the bin. Better to get something you know the person actually wants or give them a token/cash to buy something they actually want.
One of my grans went a bit senile and used to buy me bookmarks all the time. I had a drawer full of them and eventually just had to throw them all away. I prefer to turn the page corner over to be honest.
And ruin the book?! You... fuck!
if there are chapters then yes i'll try and get to the end of a chapter.
Don't tell me you actually use bookmarks.
I'd NEVER be so awful as to turn over the corner of a page.
is actually a bookmark. a bookmark bought from rome, with one of michelangelo's paintings on it.
could i throw it away on grounds of it being unbearably tacky?
p.s. i only fold corners when there's a line or a paragraph i like. then i go back every now and then to old books to see if it brings the same emotions out of me. i like to use cut-up photographs for bookmarks.
what is it?
I like tat
so I put them in a draw and try and forget about them.
