Anyone see that crash? T'was a nasty one.
I hope he's okay :(
Not much left of that. Hope the guy's alright.
which tends to suggest he's not too bady hurt :)
"Robert is stable, no further information"
walkin threw the living room for a cigarette n caught the replay, that car just wouldnt stop bouncing
which is a good thing for F1 apparently. great crash though
This race is anarchical! And they say Canada is boring. I'll bet they've put little booby traps all around the track. Like Wipeout.
Now watch the collective weight of the media's expectation crush him.
Having said that, I wouldn't bet against him winning the title.
That was a ridiculous race! It was like Mario Kart - red shells everywhere...
Did you notice the commentator as Hamilton crossed the finish line?
Straight Alan Patridge. I half expected him to say "...and that was Liquid Racing!"
Well done to that man. Won the race convincingly from start to finish.
I'm dead pleased for him actually, and despite the overwhelming hype about him I do think he's the next British sporting superstar. It's all firmly in place for him to acheive it.
Kubica has a broken leg so the highly rated Vettel will get a few races now.
Jenson Button LOL
I know this is my 20,000th post but I couldn't be fucked to mark it in any way.
until they put in loop the loops.
that could be pretty cool, and it's always a laugh if it's raining loads.
blindfolded with a loop in there and some sort of rickety ridge. Then it would be interesting
put Dick Dastardly in there too.
Lightning Bolts which shrink the other racers.
And banana skins.
Machine guns, go-faster stripes and particle weapons.
everyone would just die, we need to be realistic here.
out the back of your car though
They'll have to light it so much that there won't really be much of a difference. Temperature would probably be a more interesting thing.
watching a night race in the middle of the day doesn't seem right. Races shown in the middle of the night are the best.
forget Hamilton, Sato fucking overtook Alonso on the outside!
he was lapping faster than Raikkonen and Kovaleinen as well, apparently.
He's becomming the new Ralf Schumacher.
And Kovalainen is shit, it's sheer luck that he finished 4th.
stop pissing on it >:(
If they didn't fuck up their pit stops they could have done even better!
I bet Honda are asking for their old cars back.
is becoming the new Ralf Schumacher. If the Schumacher-Heidfeld swap rumour has any truth it'd be one of F1s most ridiculous moments. I need to go get a paper.
is that bad. Just having a difficult time adjusting. Rosberg had that long period last year where everyone started saying that Williams should drop him, and so far this year he's done very well [I feel bad for him, with Wurz performing worse yet getting a podium]. I reckon he'll do much better in the latter part of a year - especially now that some of the pressure is off. His seat should be safe enough. I don't see the point of replacing him with Piquet anyway.
to be read sometime late tonight when i can have the computer for longer. really epic. so so much to say.
omgheidfeldyayyou'resogood, ohnopoorkubica, welldonehamilton, howmanysafetycars??, blackflagslongtimenosee, congratshamilton, itvpleasedie. etc. full report with spaces to follow [space bar is broken, getting one requires much effort]
Does this Grand Prix victory make Lewis Hamilton better then Inspector Morse's sidekick or Eddie Lewis in the hot Lewis stakes?
The Kubica moment was terrifying for me, I really felt so sick. Got me thinking of Schumacher's accident where he broke his legs. That period where all the people are gathered around the car, and you just have no idea how serious the injury will be. ITV reported he had broken his leg, though this seems to have been denied, and it's now said he's more or less okay. A real testament to F1 safety that an accident like that could go without serious consequence. Even if he isn't badly injured, I still can't see him being okay for Indy next week. Will be interesting to see Vettel or Glock, whichever is chosen - but can't see either making much of a claim for a seat, given the quality of the current line up.
I hate the Hamilton overhype as much as the next person, but was glad to see him win - whilst maybe not the best of races to claim your first victory, he did deserve it. Putting the hype aside, he's been so outstanding this year, and the wdc is surely very achievable. The commentary did seem a little toned down compared to Button's first win, which was nice - James Allen only screamed during the final lap, so kudos to him.
Heidfeld will get overlooked when viewing the rest as usual, probably in favour of Wurz and Sato. He was the only driver other than Hamilton not to benefit through others, and entirely earn their position. If Theissen doesn't renew his contract soon the guy needs serious examination. Hamilton & Heidfeld are the only two to have given 100% so far this year, and are way above the rest in terms of form.
Wurz's position was basically all down to luck, being in the right place at the right time fuelled to the right amount for the safety car periods. But credit to him anyway, podium is always a good result in the current williams. Similar goes for Kovalainen, nice to see him finally get a good result, he needed to for sure.
The Fisichella / Massa incident was weird. Don't know if there's something about that light - JPM got black flagged for the same a couple of years back I believe? Major brainfades for both of them.
Alonso. A complete disaster, basically. The first corner mistake AGAIN was so costly, and when he was forced to pit illegally for fuel so as to avoid running out he pretty much sealed it. I think he'll be much better on the return to Europe - I can see the championship being very close between him & Hamilton - too close for McLaren's liking I guess.
Sato. Had a pretty good race - the pit stop mistake hurt him a lot - but his final few laps were pure brilliance. Overtaking Raikkonen and Alonso - whatever anyone says about tyres etc - that was pretty special.
And finally Davidson. You KILLED A BEAVER? And it RUINED YOUR RACE? YOU RUINED IT'S LIFE - PERSPECTIVE PLEASE.
Finally, just when ITV can't get any worse - they have NO press conference, NO interviews, NO analysis. And what for? Soaps? Seriously? Dear God.
Uh, you can talk!
Beaver incident analysis, please!
didnt mention that on teletext
sounds like a bizarre race
I know about midway through the race Massa went off and a little mole creature flying around in a cloud, picked him up with a little fishing rod and put him back on the track.
It was really weird.
How do I analyse the beaver incident? I'll have a go...
Davidson struck a beaver during the Canadian grand prix. This sad event can not really be blamed on Davidson as at F1 speeds could not be expected to see it. However the track is surrounded by water so you can see where it got confused. The incident caused Davidson to take an impromptu pitstop, and none of the Aguri mechanics were prepared. This certainly hurt Davidson's chances considerably. It is fair to assume the beaver community of Montreal is currently very sad. In summary, I feel the beaver incident was of benefit to neither the driver nor the beaver, and propose that the Montreal grand prix should move to a location with a lower beaver population.
Is that satisfactory?
"It is fair to assume the beaver community of Montreal is currently very sad," is the only evidence to the contrary. Otherwise, we just have your word on it. Pfft! ;)
She does have a pleasingly male sense of humour. I for one am completely satisfied. Whether it actually happened or not.
P.S. Just saw the crash. Carumba!
it is all very suspicious, a girl that likes formula 1 AND football management sims, its all just a bit too good to be true
im not sure I really want to see it but am slightly curious. Ive got the highlights on now but I doubt there will be a slow motion beaver incident replay
Sadly I didn't get to avoid the one where Da Matta [remember him?] hit a deer in champ car. Sadly, that one was horrible for the driver as well - it looked like he would have permanent brain damage at one point.
Poor beaver =(
This makes me feel less sad.
the beaver will be entering the big brother haus over the next couple of days
Rosberg & Trulli are wasting their talents in F1, evidently.
But I still think overall he's under performing. Williams seem to be on the up now, at least.
