do you hate it or something?
because going through it will show you have staying power on your c to the v
whereas quitting says along with temping that you can't stick at anything at all then you become unemployable. My sister has been temping for so many years that agencies now tell her it's hard for them to find her a permanent job.
If it makes you v v unhappy quit. If you're bored talk to your bro.
as a result i have to live with my dad in a very small flat, and the rest of my family are worrying that this is making him clinically depressed.
the elements of the job that were of any interest to me in the interview don't exist.
i just got a talking to basically saying that i was shit at the job.
im shit at getting jobs
you've been there for such a short period of time you can expunge it from your CV.
pretty much my longest job?
you're only shit because it doesn't interest you and I don't think it's fair that they said that and yet the parts of the jjob that made you sign the dotted line don't exist. They lied to you and now they dress you down. Talk to your boss about what you may find hard about the job. Discuss how they feel you could improve your work. Discuss your worries about not doing anything they said you would. See how that goes.
If they do not sort it out and you can see nothing will change, stay and look for jobs. Get a new one and leave. not that simple but hey. Don't just quit with no plan b.
Also why would your dad be depressed living with you.Do you suck serotonin out of people?
i do it alright, just slow. i have a terrible short term memory and a slow computer, which leads to long periods of time where i just forget what im doing.
i like my boss, and we've talked about things, but i just dont think its really worth doing, and the sooner i leave, the sooner i can get back to temping and making some actual money
you sound like you've thought it through. Leave but ring agencies first. Adecco suck btw :(
cos im a useless cunt and an insult to the memory of my mother or something.
basically he's a bit of a cunt, but its fair enough that he doesn't want his 22 year old son living with him when theres barely enough space for one person in the flat anyway.
despite earning a pittance? keep the longview man, go the distance!
I've been in contact with quite a few agencies but always get stuck when they ask me what I want to do.
Have you tried agencies? I think maybe you could do better than £400 a month. I hope I can! I might not be able to afford to live pretty soon :(
office angels are a good temping agency, the one in canary wharf found me p/t admin for 9+ an hour. if i were you i'd do part time admin to pay rent then spend the rest of the week interning/ volunteering somewhere you DO want to work, whatever industry it is, i think deep down you know, then after a few months of this you can look for full time jobs in your chosen field. thats what i was going to do but now i've a f/t job in something vaguely related to what i wanted to do. good luck!
Whatever decision you make, don't make it at a low ebb, and wait at least 24 hours after you've decided 100% either way to be sure that the idea sits completely comfortably with you.
Job hunting whilst working full time can be a bit of a ball ache, but simultaneously, if it takes time to find something new, you don't need to explain away the gap and draw suspicion as to why the gap was there in the first place. Longevity (to a point) is seen as a positive regardless of whether the job was perfect for you or not, just because it shows that you can deal with it.
However all of this is dependent on just how bad your current situation really is. I quit the job before the one I have now because it reached a point where I potentially was going to do something so bad I'd be sacked, so better to just quit and use the notice period to apply intensively elsewhere and not have to pretend I'm taking a long lunch while going for an interview.
There's no one size fits all answer to this, but when you get bogged down with the gradual erosion of your self-esteem like this in a negative role, it can be tempting to think that you are the cause of the problem and that things can never get better. Just remember that this is bullshit, you're not a burden and that you just need to find a way, ANY way, to motivate yourself to move on to something new.
Fake it till you make it.
Look, don't make Jordan's tolling this easy!
