Anyway. Why is it that people wear heels 'to make their legs appear longer'

WHATS WRONG WITH BEING A SHORTARSE?!

My flatmate always wears heels, she's a little bit taller than me and say's she wants to look taller because it looks 'better' pah!
She knows that by the end of the night her feet are going to be in agony so why is she willing to suffer serious pain just for a little extra height?
