encoding user data inside a file is a bad thing?
it's not really so much, but i think it's a bit shitty if they haven't a) informed the people who are buying the tracks that the data will be there, nor b) asking the labels / artists in the first place if they want it there.
and someone took those details out of the files. It says it has your account information but hopefully it couldn't be used for any nefarious things.
do they need to be so controlling?
You're automatically treated like a potential criminal for choosing to use a legal service to buy your music. So if you choose an illegal route to obtaining music by P2P downloading or copying cds, you end up with a better, more usable, less intrusive product than the people who don't break the law.
it's absurd. it's like if books were published with a photocopier proof reflective layer over each page, and some kind of retinal encoding so if anyone else's eyes read the pages they burst into flames.
