Anybody else a pro at this? I'd like to think that I'm not an anti-social person, but it's becoming increasingly apparent that on a lot of occaisons I'd rather be by myself
Take the other day at work, for example. A new girl there asked if I was going to lunch, and I lied to her and said I needed to pop into town to pick something up. Instead, I went a bought the paper and went and sat over the pub with a nice pint and my copy of G2. So I lied to her, basically. She's a perfectly nice person but I'd just much rather spend an hour to myself rather than making rubbish small talk with somebody I barely know. Is that so wrong?
Does anybody ever do that thing where they pretend they haven't seen somebody in the street or whatever, and just carry on walking? Everybody does this, surely? It's what makes the world go round
