Expensive Taxi Journeys

cadd [Edit] [Delete] 27 replies 23:58, 20 May '07

Had my most expensive ever in Paris on Friday. Had paid in advance for bus to airport, driver told us to wait at side then drove away without us leaving us no other option than taxi to airport. This cost us 126 euros, 90 quid, 45 quid each. I'm sure someone on here will be able to beat this

  • In my younger, more stupid years, I often paid over

£30 for taxis from east london back to west london. part of the reason i moved east eventually. too many drunken journeys on my own, half cut, and in the back of a cab.

    But your story STINGS.

    Poor you,

        £100

long story again, but someone was stabbed on the train I was supposed to be getting so it was terminated.

        • my uncles ex girlfriend

who was a nutter and paranoid someone was going to kill her once travelled from Scotland to London by minicab. I think it cost about £400.

          • Mine was

£120 from Peterborough to Radlett - not a long story. We (or I) couldn't be arsed with getting a rail replacement bus back from Peterborough so I offered to pay for a cab. Money well spent.

            • except you ended up in Radlett

              • well, apart from that

but I did get wine and sausage and bacon sandwiches in Radlett, so not all bad.

                • ..

Portrush to Belfast. Think it cost £70ish, but that was between 4 of us, so not too bad. Was worth it to see Electric Eel Shock and Fighting With Wire.

                  • my friends

got £10,000 to make a documentary. so they got a taxi from piccadilly circus and told the taxi man to drive until it reached £10,000!!! that's a fare.

          • i've never done the glasgow-edinburgh taxi thing

i'd rather sleep at the bus station until the next morning.

however, im willing to bet a glasgow taxi to edinburgh is cheaper than the same trip the other way round..
