It wasn't very good except the bit where Mark tried to get run over.
Nihilistic in a bad way
dull and predictable way to end the series, it was all over the place n poorly written. Everything felt lazy and under thought, like they drew out a draft and stuck with it.
That was very true! :)
but the first three series were tip top.. watched them all the other day online... didn`t stop laughing!!
In an uncomfortable way that was different to the negative discomfort the series usually creates in a funny way. Like it was miserable nastiness without trying to get much of a laugh out of it. If you know what I mean?
Analysing comedy like that is weird.
bit of an odd ending; David Mitchell was superb, the panic in his face through the entire episode. :D
"You do smell quite strongly of piss."
"And your hat and shoes smell of sick."
mark , blaming him for making him wee himself
from a quite rubbish episode
Excellent ending to the series. How was it nihilistic? There was never going to be a 'happy' ending.
It barely made me laugh but this was probably the first time that Peep Show has actually aroused any sort of emotional response in me. I think the way they conveyed Mark's sense of dread about the whole thing was masterful. Where do they go from here though?
they should end it now really. even though they've commisioned a fifth series apparently.
of this episode was really fitting in a way - for better or worse, Mark and Jez can only rely on each other as they inevitably screw up their own lives...
This has been a good series though, so maybe a fifth could offer something more.
I'll leave now...
We've gone off topic.
it was well good. The bit where they were hiding in the vestry was brilliant.
7/10 i'd say
it was never going to end happily, and it was more about the situation they'd got into than any actual jokes. BUT i liked it.
were fucking cackling
the toast joke
two emotions at the same time
what more can you ask for?
excellent, seminal even. The whole scene when they were hiding in the church was really well acted and written.
The Series as a whole has been disappointing though
... it was as good as ever. The last two episodes have been amongst the best of them all, this series did have a bit of a dip with the JLB conference episode, and the health club episode, but i think overall it was ace.
The only problem I have with it is that Sophie and Super Hans were used so sparingly. I know Mark fell out of love with Sophie, but they were still engaged with a wedding to plan, so surely we should have seen more of him. Also, with Mark about to wed and move out, should Jez not have been spending more time with Super Hans? Obviously not.
Oh, and did we see mark go to work at all this series? Some of the scenes in JLB from previous series have been the best ones. "I'm safe in the cupboard..."
I seem to remember them saying that after series 2 they weren't allowed to use the office building anymore for shooting, hence no more scenes in 3 and 4
They weren't allowed to use the flat any more either, but they built a replica. Suppose they wanted to get their moneys worth out of that and couldn't stretch to building a fake office as well.
a decent ending to the series.not as many actual laugh out loud moments as other episodes but still really good.
the sheer panic from mark throughout was magnificent and the pissing while hiding made me nearly wet myself.
my friday nights won't be the same for a while...
- possibly the best in this series.
