for both day and night
any ideas poppets?
^best anecdote ever
the Cellar-depends which nights though, Thursday is always good.
Baby Bar Love- On a Wednesday night, usually Narcissists is on, which is very Indie and goes on till about 3am I think
Trashy clubs-Parkend/Oceans and Collins/Filth (all shit imo)
Posh Oxford kids hang out-The Bridge/Po Na Nas
Nice cocktail bar (situated opposite Parkend) is Thirst.
Pubwise- The Star and The Hobgoblin on Cowley road are the best imo
I only really go to the Zodiac, but that's no longer an option. :(
it's a nice pub tucked away in central Oxford! Go there for a decent ale!
we should go for a drink sometime next year!
I'm not in Oxford anymore, back home. Otherwise I would come.
you make po na na sound super bad. its not bad really. better than most of the other clubs. its unfair to lump it with the bridge. admittedly, i've only done the thursday night, but i thought it was fun in a commercial indie kind of way.
is awesome and FREE, they have proper shrunken heads! Or go ice skating, or some of the Ashmoleon is open. Alternatively there are the botanical gardens, can't say I've ever been to 'em though.
knowing I'd never have to see the shrunken heads again. That whole place creeps me out. Imagine if the things came alive at night. Hmm... that gives me an idea for a hit movie.
refurbirshment to become the oxford academy. urgh.
what sort of thing are you looking for - music venues and stuff, or cultural kind of things, or pubs/clubs?
tomorrow, on a whim, looking for fun times for a short break
the college in the foreground is, i believe, all souls. may be wrong though.
for the first, i dunno, but i'd guess either magdalen, christ church or trinity.
that sounds plausible. i was just guessing, as it looked kinda like the things those colleges have.
alternatively, go to 'filth' nightclub in the evening. it is really nice, has good music, and in no way smells of piss.
and go gargoyle spotting!
on cowley road, the star and bullingdon arms are ok for drinks, and the red star is a good noodle place
centrally, the gloucester arms is cheap and has a good jukebox, the turf is a nice pub, and mertons is open until 2am
the cellar is the best for nights out, though the purple turtle is quite cheap
But PT is annoying, you have to prove you're a student to be served, and after 9pm only Oxford students are allowed in. The Bullingdon is such an old mans pub, and really lacks any atmosphere...a mon avis
has just re-opened and is rather good. Incidentally, I am DJ-ing there on Saturday night from 8pm.
