Which aren't sonic! Suggestions plz?
I think so. It was ace, get them!
are aladdin and that dolphin one strangely. aladdin was good, i dont know if itd still be as good though...
One fucking disturbing game.
it was amazing.
would of been better if you could save
Shining Force 2
Toejam and Earl
spent all my money on it one summer in France but then it wouldn't fucking let you continue on the last level if you died. grrr
Gunstar Heroes (probably the best Megadrive game of all in my opinion)
Alien Soldier (another Treasure classic)
Revenge of Shinobi
OMG YES x1000000
golden axe? my friend had that i think and it was pretty awesome. it involved running around chopping mental skeletons up.
i was always a nintendo kid myself though.
...triple game cartridge.
There's also a version of gauntlet.
also: NBA Jam.
Best basketball game ever.
i want to go home and dig out my megadrive now!
The Sega Master System II was where gaming reached its pinnacle.
mentioned Alex Kid
had Papa Shango in it if I recall - rare
It's a good day to be Papa Shango.
(It was ALWAYS a good day to be Papa)
Knock yourself out.
it's his birthday today!
I didn't even look at that thread today. Papa Shango must be spreading his voodoo vibes into the DiS consciousness
one of the worst consoles of all time
Ghouls and Ghosts was bliss
or was that genesis? Whatever, get an emulator and play it.
Never had a sega mega drive. Only ever played it on a "genesis" emulator, so that makes sense.
Anyway, its great.
Shining Force was amazing.
Is it wrong that my childhood memories comprise solely of playing/watching my dad play RPGs?
Rented out metal gear solid when I was about 6 or 7. It spiralled downwards to where I am now from there.
So those must be good memories.
remains my favourite RPG ever. good call.
Jungle Strike was bloody amazing. I still play it now, and it's still as hard as it was. I owned all the Strikes, same as I did with all the Road Rash games. Funny thing is that I was disappointed when I got given a Mega Drive as I wanted a SNES but in the long run, I think I got the better peice of kit!
pete sampras tennis 95
they were my favs.
plus various mentioned above.
Lot of memories surfacing here...
How about Road Rash, Streets Of Rage 2, Gunstar Heroes, but best of all:
Dynamite Headdy. Probably the best game I've ever played on any system. Maybe excepting Final Fantasy 7.
did it ever come out here?
God, those Treasure Megadrive games were amazing
Yeah. I still remember that £34.99 I had to save up to pay for it. Shit, I can still hum the soundtrack.
I still have Dynamite Headdy :D
Rystar, and any of the Streets of Rage series. I also had the Michael Jackson game, you had to rescue small children by moonwalking baddies. You could turn into robo-Michael Jackson, it was pretty amazing
it was actually pretty good, you could throw your hat at baddies and stuff.
when loads of baddies piled onto the screen, you could do a little dance and make loads of them die simultaneously.
it was all downhill after that.
it even made a reasonable hand of converting Billy Jean et al onto a Megadrive soundtrack. Good times. :)
Still one of my favourite games ever. Must get round to finding an emulator again.
I never ever though I'd find someone who'd played this game too.
Best storyline ever. I remember being let down by the fact that you were stopped at the gates of actual proper heroes heaven.
I've been thinking the exact same thing! Noone I've ever mentioned it to has heard of it.
Other than FF7 I've never been "moved" by a story line before.
Especially the bit where you go killing the purple blobs, then get transformed into one and talk to the mother purple blob... proper guilt trip!
I've found an emulator AND the game. That's what I'll be doing for the next day or two then!
fantastic game :)
Monsters not being evil and stuff, then you have to kill it without it even attacking you...
One for after exams!
Plus others mentioned
Streets of Rage
Out run 2019 (lol at how it's only set 12 years away from now)
I downloaded a massive torrent of mega drive games a few weeks ago, one bored sunday. It was 'mayzing.
still remain the pinnacle of multiplayer gaming on any console
swos, dizzy, streets of rage 2, streetfighter 2 turbo all deserve a mention.
and John Madden football, EA hockey, Snake and Saracen (Sp?).
God, I cant believe I've just sold TWO megadrives with a stack of games for a tenner in a car boot. Feck.
was one of my favourites. And it's just come out on Wii virtual console!
But, yes, Shining Force 1 and 2 all the way. Landstalker was quite good if you don't mind isometric-ness.
Same here... though I never ever did figure out what i was doing.
It didn't make any sense. But it was so much fun.
That was all I used to select, then bash lots of buttons.
that game was awesome. and sooooo hard.
me and my friend used to play it in co-op, and spend most of the time trying to turn each other into spirals.
shoot em up alien 2 player joy.
none of you fuckers has mentioned Mega Lo Mania.
I <3 incubus
... MSP used to talk about Mickey's Castle of Illusion in the NME

I think I still have this book round my folks house.
and ghouls and ghosts was another beaut
Who knew chain whipping a guy off a motorbike at 90mph could be so satisfying?
either 2 or 3. pv and i played it for about four hours once, i think by the end she was ready to beat me around the head with a club.
getting better at the end! i beat you once. oh yeah.
absolute gold that...
any of the streets of rage
Oh wait, that was for us posh kids.
Steets of Rage 2
Pete Sampras Tennis
Micro Machines 2
Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition
Not as good as a SNES overall though.
Toy Story & Xmen, that was awesome!
the best crossover never realised...

The best 2D platformer...EVER! Is all you need to know.
