I'm thinking about applying next year. Anyone here who goes/went there and can tell me what it's like?
i went there, what do you want to know exactly?
Is it full of super cool/arty/posh people? For some reason the thought of going there fills me with dread, which kind of makes it even more appealing. I suppose I'm just afraid I'll feel like an idiot and everyone will be much smarter than me.
but, there are normal people there also. i loved it. it really had a community feeling, everyone knew each other, it was wicked. the courses are highly regarded, esp. media, art, design, anthropology. it's in no way as bad as central st.martins.
caught her eye
you are planning on taking, you could avoid most 'wankers' easily. i am in my first year at goldsmiths, within the first month of being here there was a man waving a gun around in iceland... iceland, of all places. and when i return back to oxford, i miss hearing sirens every three minutes. its good though. the whole campus is nice. there is a building with a squiggle on the top. people claim to have seen a red man singing on it recently. maybe it was art. maybe someone was drunk. i dont know.
i thought you said "isn't most of the gun gang STAFF related".
oops. fuckin' hardcore
i saw someone stabbed but...
so....... meh, that's london.
of Surrey....safe, close by Surrey...
the "social and cultural studies" degree or Media and Modern literature. What did you study?
like social and cultural studies but a million times better, while incorporating pretty much the same things.
but don't let that put you off, he managed to get some quite cool acts in there...
I go there, so it must be a hive of creativity.
Its pretty much the only Uni in London which seems to have a "community" feel like out of town uni's. Most London Uni's are kind of isolated and people only make friends with others on their course, but seeing as New Cross has loads of good pubs and the SU is good it seems like everyone mixes fairly well. They get good/biggish name acts at the S.U. too (Art Brut, Coxon, Pendulum)
Not that I go there or have been to Uni but I've gathered this from friends and socialising round New Cross/at Goldsmiths sometimes.
It's also got lots of pretty arty girls if that's your thing. And not too wanky like St Martins or whatever.
new cross is really near central london, its one stop on the train to london bridge or a 30mins max bus ride. and it has loads of nightbuses.
despite the tossers. theres annoying people at every university, just the nature of (young) people right? and yes, and jesus says, more hot girls than you can shake a stick at
