I'm surprised it's still going strong after all the negative publicity it seems to be getting. Or rather, I'd like to be surprised.
How can they get away with hiding behind the 'religion' tag and then have a spokesman who wears a suit and dark glasses who storms off whenever the questions get too difficult. Not to mention the shady cameramen filming the journalist.
No wonder said journalist gets quite angry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okKYSSRQodQ
Also, "Chief Superintendent Kevin Hurley of the City of London police has helped open a new £20 million Scientology centre in London, and the authorities in the City of London have granted it cut-price rates." There should be rules against that sort of thing, the Charity Commission don't class it as religion, but surely authorities should go further and class it as a cult and start outlawing some of their activities...
There's a Panorama thing on Monday btw..
Has anyone had any experience of them at work? or know anyone who's been converted? Do they watch messageboards and start spying on people who post threads about them?
