Is it common for people to own piano's, we have one, I guess people just have keyboards?
my dad is actually really good at it. He wishes he was in the chieftans.
I think they're cooler than keyboards.
I have a keyboard too and I hate it. When I have my own house a piano is one of the first things I'll get.
poor deprived sadpunk. (})
Long term plans
it forces me to cook properly!
(and quite badly)
(we did have a conversation about melting lego people in a microwave didnt we?? i may have dreamt it...)
I used to have a microwave, it broke and I never bothered to replace it.
I took it to bits instead! :)
items 1, 3, 4 or 5 on your list either :(
i do have a piano though
I wish we had a piano.
the badge of being middle class?
if no one in the house can play it.
though i think my sisters can both play it to some extent
and no one can play it...
To be fair we have millions of instruments in this house, and that's pretty much the only one that doesn't get used. Probably because it's over a hundred years old and can't possibley be tuned any more.
I'd rather have a room centred around a piano than a massive widescreen plasma thingy.
It's a good place to put all the photo frames (and unused Coldplay Piano books)
I just randomly hit the keys, I'm not musical.
thingy but i think she sold it when they moved house.
I have a chord organ but thats the closest thing. I dont even have a casio keyboard or something.
but it's horridly out of tune (boo!)
We have one round my parents house.
Even thought a tuner allegedly came and had a go at it, tt's a still microtone or so out.
Still good for jamming.
keyboard at uni
No! What could've possibly given you that idea?
...I know where middle C is and that's about it.
Who knows how to read music?
Can any of you just look at sheet music and hear it in your head? That'd be RAD!
only my stepdad is able play, though.
I got given a synth a few years ago, but I gave it away because I can't actually play. I do have a raaaather nice drum kit, though.
But less so now. I used to have a piano, but not anymore. My parents gave it to my gran for a while and it was later sold on to someone else. Since then I've been stuck with a keyboard.
IMHO piano > keyboard
You are really funny sometimes
it was purchased during the great middle class glut of 96.
had it since i was about 8 i guess. i don't know a lot about pianos but i've always assumed it's quite a run of the mill one. i haven't played it in years because it's in a very awkward place and i can't really get near it. it's out of tune now, and the middle E key sticks.
poor piano. when i get my own place, it'll have a nice corner of its own, and i'll get it tuned and fixed up and polished niiice & good.
Never had a piano, but had a keyboard that made the eqivelant beats that the Klaxtons make today.
I have to boast, I do have a pink plastic microphone. Although it makes an echoing action rather than REVERB, one time.
Fuck me I'm ghetto.
as a klaxons keyboard and rake it in from the nu ravers. seriously.
but i haven't played it for years.
it's probably pretty out of tune by now
Badly but with much enthusiasm.
a Cahn & Cahn from Berlin
never been tuned as long as i'd known her, then i turn up one weekend, am pissed off, want to make some out of tune piano nonsense and shes given it to my step brother
its my baby.
However I would love a baby grand and I am determined to have one when I own a house!!
size and babies*
Alas my parents could never afford one. Or a house big enough to put it in. Plus it wouldn't exactly have been worth it as no-one in my family is musical except me.
For some bonus cool points: anyone have a harp in their house? I want one :-(
