Phil Neville. WHY?
and over half of those names on that list are usually included in the A squad. I can understand that this means that some of them should get a run out proper this time but there's others in there like Paul Robinson, Owen Hargreaves, Aaron Lennon and Stewart Downing who are established first teamers and who don't need to be given a run out, they have expereicne and are match fit. Owen I can understand as he needs more games but the others.
it's just and England friendly but without Chelsea/Man U/Liverpool players because they're all tired/busy and it's easier to call it a 'B' international.
But yeah, including Neville is just pointless. Unless the idea is team-building, which is pretty depressing in itself as it implies that he has a future and isn't just a stop-gap when we have injuries.
Also, I'd rather see Carson than Robinson.
and has no long-term future.
will get in the full squad regardless of how he performs in this B game, so it seems pointless to me.
Plus he isn't very good.
but I think he would certainly have been in the next full squad even if he hadn't featured in this B game.
He's not as bad as people make out, but I don't think Engand spending time on him is especially productive.
they need to give the younger, less experienced players a run out. Use it t test the water so to speak for when injuries and suspensions hit.
I'm also a little concerned about the frontline, there needs to be new blood. I'm a little suprised that some players from Bolton, Portsmouth and Lita from Reading aren't in the squad.
that Kevin Davies was going to be in the squad. It seems I was lied to.
I'd like to see Matt Taylor given a chance.
he has been extremely good this year.
its weird to see Robinson and Neville in the squad, we know all about them. I think Lennon, Downing, Hargreaves are probably in the squad to give them some minutes.
Glad to see Nicky Shorey and Bentley get in the squad, although I think they've both done well enough this season to get in the full squad.
I used to word squad way too many times. I wish there was an edit function on this board
is even more baffling. He has been woeful recently.
Nice to see Shorey, Lescott, Jagielka, Bentley, Dawson and Nugent in there though:D
Players that deserve a chance ahead of him = Darren Bent, Johnson, Lita... more I can't think of.
injured for the qualifiers?
Johnson is out though injury, Rooney is banned for one game. So Defoe upfront with Crouch?
centre backs so no one else will EVER get a chance properly:(
B internationals are coming back into fashion.
Good idea really. And it's good that Shorey and Bentley are included.
i am so fucking happy that he's got a place in the squad, it may only be the B string but fantastic oppotunity, he's been bloody amazing all season.
at long bloody last some recognition i truely hope he plays well and gets a full cap. he deserves it big time
Actually I can. A perfect opportunity to look at some players OTHER than the usual back up tripe we get in England squads. The perfect opportunity to try out players such as Nicky Hunt, Matt Taylor, Leon Osman, Steve Sidwell instead of the usual suspects. Disappointing.
