Bound to happen, what with Curbishley's departure.
I wonder what the odds are on the same happening to Bolton?
Charlton were a lower mid-table team.
but bottom half?
Bolton to go down this season!
they sold N'Gotty and Jaidi, plus Okocha left and I didn't think they made any great signings - Anelka could of gone either way. I know it looks stupid now, but last August a few people agreed with me!
Allardyce is the glue that holds it all together. I have a feeling Lee will try to replicate what he did, and fail miserably.
which is a shame because he seems a nice guy
and an assist i think.
I love him.
they just lacked quality. Apart from Darren Bent no player stands out.
The players that had been bought in last summer and the following winter had proved to be poor.
I did hear though that if you buy a Charlton season ticket for next season and they went down that you would get a free season ticket if they went back up the following season, that's good.
It still makes me :( a bit though.
wonder who will come in for Darren Bent?
A Defoe or Berbatov replacement.
would be the perfect kind of player to fit into that rotational midfield/attack system. saha or alan smith could be chucked into the deal, man u have been known to pay a lot(carrick) so i doubt money will be a problem.
Berbatov seems to me to be very much a form player who benefits from an extended run in the first team.
the rotation of the midfield and attack on the pitch with players changing positions, i think berbatov would fit into that really well as his link up play is good.
In which case I totally agree, I've not seen a Premiership striker of recent times with better vision and link up play than Berbatov.
Crouch can go the other way
but not Berbatov.
Jol's not an idiot in the transfer market, the only slightly dodgy move was selling Carrick but we got a shitload for him and we haven't missed him too badly in the second half of the season.
I can't really imagine who'd sign Defoe though, none of the top 4 would want him and I don't think he'd really want to go to anyone else.
It should be an interesting summer transfer window.
...you have to let them eventually. Jol was only being pragmatic about Carrick - he clearly fancied the move to Man Utd and, given the club were pretty well-compensated and it'd be difficult to get the same level of performance out of an unhappy player, Jol had little choice really.
If someone offers enough for Berbatov, and he wants to move, it'd be pretty tough to keep him.
Charlton were really valiant in the last thirty minutes. Played some great football.
the real world, social conduct or tact.
you guys get 7th now as it would involve a loss for Arsenal and Bolton and Reading not being one of England's footballing ambassadors in Europe next season *shudders at the thought*
this is banking on Spurs getting 5th or 6th which is by no means a certainty...
how good a job Curbishley was doing there. If you look at the Charlton side, there's a lot of shit in there
Bent to Spurs and Defore to Man United?
I don't like Charlton
But I do hate Bobby Charlton
Apart from that, I actually think Charlton will struggle nest season
The man's a legend!
And he wears those glasses that are slightly tinted. I can never trust a man who wears those. It's paedophile chic
So I can't take anything you say on the matter seriously
Whose sole asset is an overrated pikey
i'm not even buddhist
