  • make a wall out of paper mache

glue some pictures of books on it, then simply prop the wall up cornering one end off of the university library. vwualla.

  • they're all right so far

you moved in with new people in the first year, just do it again.

that was probably my biggest mistake, not meeting more 'randoms' and moving in with, well, 'randowms' would achieve that.

    • that's true

I just moved in with the girls that I lived in halls with. They were nice enough, but we had nothing in common and I ended up regretting it. Third year was great when I moved in with some good friends. A lot of people seem to have a bad living experience in their second year.

      • by third year

one of my housemates had been institutionalised and we had slugs in the kitchen.

        Those facts aren't necessarily connected.

        • don't lodge

with a middle aged South African man. it might seem great to start with but it will soon turn out shite.

find somewhere temporary, chances are mates of mates will drop out of uni and rooms will become available in house-shares once term has begun.

float around the uni noticeboards, there'll be 'housemate wanted' posteres around. go to your accommodation office, they may have Halls places (they don't always advertise them very well).

put posts up on your uni/SUs website/messageboard.
