also, how did you get there?
No, we took a cab from the station splitting £40 four ways rather than waiting for the local bus which costs £5.10 (or maybe almost £6) but since it's a local bus service they won't pack it out with us stragglers and it arrives almost full on the hour in any case.
There is a coach service put on by ATP. Apparently you could prebook this (from the website?) but there were some places available - £6 each.
For the way back there were five coaches that you could book a place on for £6 from the Butlins booking office.
especially if you opened it for them. I bought a bottle of water on the first day and then proceeded to fill it with gin and tonic and carry that in. They didn't seem to care and they rarely even dug around in our bags.
Umm...If they put any 'big' acts on in the centre stage or Reds you'll probably want to get in there for the act before or else there'll be a one-in, one-out queue. Many poor souls were spared the catawaulling of Joanna Newsome because of this.
but we seemed to cope with the 2
the memories will last forever
Minehead is better than Camber in every respect apart from the excessive light and continual background noise on the main stage.
I didn't have to sleep on the sofa this year which was a bonus too.
But our shower was unbelievably poor. A dribble that either scalded the skin or froze it.
the bands/venue/staff/crowds/accomodation all worked. I was talking to the head of Butlins security today and he was saying it was really calm, no incidents at all.
I'm still not home, won't get home for another 12 hours or so, I'm hiding in a hotel bar in Coventry waiting for a bus to Birmingham then one to Glasgow. I'll link to my photos if and when I get home and get them sorted and online
i didn't realise you were there..
i was sure i recognised you cadd.
with the crazy army knife man?
or was that merely a myth?
i dont know if you got the whole story, but on the second day he had his knives confiscated, and then on the third he threw a massive smoke/stink bomb into the bowling alley, causing a massive yellow cloud to form there for about an hour. he then ran to his chalet, shaved off his moustache, changed his clothes, left, and was then caught and taken to the nearest police cells.
rumour has it someone on these boards is uber best pals with him. true story.
my only contact with him was giving him a friendly thumbs up so that he didnt attack me, which he replied to by punching himself in his own face.
was that the guy who was in fatigues the whole time? mental. wondered why he'd suddenly disappeared.
all on the inside.
my final memory of ATP is of watching jamie summers and joeymahone talk to two guys who had, for reasons nobody knew, pulled their trousers down. one of them was doing a sexy dance for mahone. it all proved a bit too much for me to cope with at 5am so i decided to go and pass out on our sofa instead.
from this make me really look forward to vs the Fans, purely for AMUSEMENT.
my last memory is of makin out with rocknrollmassacre, unfortunately, as much much much fun was had over the weekend
