(I'm sure this will just get two replies, both of which will say Homer Simpson)
Lorelai / Luke / Jess outta The Gilmore Girls.
Marco outta The 4400.
That's pretty much all I watch.
How can you reject this?
You're pure evil.
post got in there first and I felt compelled to be different. Gob definitely got funnier the further the series went - the banana suit/'they're laughing at me, Michael' bit makes my ribs crack.
The dog from Tom and Jerry?
Or George Costanza.
Paulie Walnuts and Silvio Dante are both better than Tony.
but Tony is terrifying, funny and tragic.
I only really watch it for Silvio's hair and facial expressions.
the guy is 70% shoulders!
but still, shits on Quincy!
if you'd mind if I shit on you??!'
and ruth fisher, the mum in six feet under.
the prison break guy?
he's so clever and has a heart of gold, whats not to love?
should not be loved.
and heres me thinking we could be friends.
Andy Sipowicz wins this. Easy.
show your working out.
(depressed, alcoholic, divorced, anger issues, cop, moustache), yet still retains our complete sympathy, standing strong through tragedy (dead partner, another dead partner, dead son, murdered wife, ill other son!!!).
Incredible acting performance from Dennis Franz. Considering he played him for many years, and through some pretty mental storylines, he never seemed any less than utterly believable.
and doesn't he have a moustache?
NYPD blue started off great, got increasingly hokey, but Sipowicz always made it worth watching.
If only for the nude scenes! Phwoarr !(very soft-focus mind)
is brilliant. He acts appallingly in every situation he's presented with, he's manipulative, insensitive, selfish, greedy, but no matter how much trouble he causes or how much he hurts people, he always convinces himself that he's right, and no-one ever manages to make him care about anything. Even his friends still stick by him.
but now that I am a bit older, I appreicate him more. Chef too.
bring in an even more annoying character you kind of take his side, viz the supernanny episode.
I quite often find myself cheering for him in the worst situations, like that ginger kids episode - when he turns ginger I was really hoping he'd find a way out of it, and he did! I was with him all the way in the hippies episode as well, obviously.
all the main cast of angel
stewie- family guy
there are probably more, i can't think of them now.
were the two worst characters!!
(not including Kendra)
angel is a great character! he is funny and a champion as well.
buffy is my sister, my best friend and my hero.
i <3 willow zander spike giles wesley cordelia fred lorne gunn and connor
and that doesn't make up for the rest of the brooding/posing/giving big speeches crap.
Buffy can fuck off. She can't act, she's only kinda pretty, her character had no depth beyond 'likes to help people and gets her heart broken a few times'.
This is so not true. Buffy had loads of depth! The whole 'with great power comes great responsibility' thing, her attraction to the dark side/kinky deathwish, her ambivalent relationship to her duty (half the time she didn't 'like to help people', it was just thrust upon her)... plus the whole series is one big rites of passage.
Angel I can take or leave. Spike was so much better.
was mentioned probably twice and never reflected in any of her actions other than her fucking whining!
her relationship with her duty was covered in the first series and then just dragged up every so often for a big speech or when another slayer showed up. She never walked away from her duty. Angel did this much better in series 2 of Angel.
They tried time and again to give her character more depth - especially in season 6, but her post-death moods were just annoying and her slacking off caring for dawn and life stuff in general just made me want to hurt her! A better actress would have made so much more of the role!
The support cast were much better characters and much better acted.
sustained a 7-year run if Buffy was as weak a character as you're suggesting, and I think the things I mentioned are constant aspects of the character not just 'dragged up' every so often. I actually prefer later Buffy (season 5/6), although it does seem like that's when it lost a lot of it's fans. Maybe I'm just a sucker for a miserable woman.
she isnt kinda pretty, she was the first girl i could actually say 'i would' about.
and her character did have depth!
stop this scandal!
forget season 4 onwards though!
for Lary David (he's more convincing as Larry David), and you got yourself a deal!
