hell is Yorkshires' Adil Rashid in that squad? Leg spin bowler and a superb lower order batsmen - sort it out Fletcher
I meant Graveney but had just read an article about Fletcher. My bad!
Panesar played before he went on tour? He's never played a one day game for his county but he was good enough for WC squad.
Great beard though
There are no players who haven't already played for England which implies that the academy and the 'A' team tour have produced no new players, and, the same squad as could have been picked twelve months ago despite the fact that England have had a miserable twelve months - the only victory being the test series against an under-strength Pakistan.
It is unfathomable that Compton and Rashid have been omitted. Equally unfathomable are the inclusions of Dalrymple, who has consistently failed and was dropped throughout the world cup despite the fact that England were playiong on turning pitches, Yardy, who is just not good enough to play international cricket and Shah who is pushing thirty and has achieved nothing.
Shah, Dalrymple and Yardy should be replaced with Compton, Rashid and Loudon respectively.
Plus, why is Trescothick in the squad? He shoudln't be there. Re-admittance to the England team should not be made easy for Trescothick who has let his team-mates down three times in less than a year.
It is a dull, uninspiring and depressing squad.
Treskers is the only batsman in the top 3 who can a) score runs and b) score them at quicker than 10 a session...
WHERE. IS. STEVEN. DAVIES.
Chris Read should be the wicketkeeper but as they seem to have discarded him I think James Foster should be recalled.
218 is pretty good though
Shah and the test team. One day, yes. Test, no.
Agree re: Rashid. The boy has had a stress fracture of the back already, and we know what happens to leggies who get rushed in (SCHOFIELD).
Wickies: Nixon is a good stopgap and a super team man with a super temperament, but Davies should be in the performance squad if not given a test berth immediately. I don't have much faith in Prior.
and Why no Mascarahanas?
Has never actually failed he's unlucky to have not to have had more tests but he'll struggle behind Trescothick, Strauss, Collingwood, Bell and Cook given that two of them are vunerable anyway to the cut if they're all fit and we select 5 bowlers (which we should).
Read should be test wicketkeeper and Nixon should be retained as one day and Twenty20 keeper with an eye on the Twenty20 World Cup. Read is amazing behind the stumps and is just as competent as Nixon with the bat. I'm not sure about Prior but I guess this is his chance to shine.
a run out in a test, just as a "thanks for not being shit while virtually everyone else was during the world cup, and yeah, you're probably right, we should've got you in a year or so ago when GoJo was being shit and Chris Read was defining 'meh', but in our defence if you werent such a gobby twat we'd have probably done it sooner, but you're too old now to be a permanent choice so go enjoy this series then enjoy your retirement" which i think he deserves.
Shame he's like 80 years old cos he's a real gem.
Bring back graham thorpe. I love that man.

but I D K Salisbury was just too tempting. Note also the presence of Capel and Pringle, two of the shittest cricketers of the early nineties.
Playing for a 5-1 defeat, winning at the Oval I'd imagine.
and this man:
the paedophile cricket XI
However, he really lacks a suitably random moustache...
only one of them is an actual spaedo.
