Watched it again last night. I still think its a pretty good teen-flick but that bit at the end where the 'weirdo' girl, Ally Sheedy, is made to look 'normal' by Molly Ringworm, is obnoxious! Wasnt the film about excepting people for what they are cos at the end of the day, were all the same under our skin! Bit contradictory, yes?
So many movies do this. The Faculty pulled the same trick with the cool goth girl. She trades her black togs for a flowery frock and pink cardigan at the films end causing her angst-ridden scowl to turn into a pretty, lady-like smile. If its not a characters dress sense thats being changed then it will be their personality - and always for the better. I can only think of 2 recent films, Napolean Dynamite and Sideways, where the characters are exactly the same at the end as they were at the beginning. We need more flicks like this please! - you listening Hollywood?!..no? thought not.
