interrailing
I was about to buy a ticket today but it won't let me because it's over 90 days away.
So I was wondering, anyone on here done it? I'd be interested in hearing about any experiences you'd care to share.
My itnerary at the moment is fairly sketchy, before anyone asks...
Two of my best mates did
and they loved it. But they had zero cash at the time which they said was the only bad bit. So save cash and then go.
Yes. Me too.
I want to do this.
I think you already know that :)
I have been saving
since roughly October so I have a fair amount.... hopefully enough so I don't have to cut the trip short anyway!
not in europe
but i went travelling by trains in north america last year and it was awwwwwwesome. trains are the best way to travel!
Yeah, I went around Germany
with thier super-trains.
Really, really good
I just read that there's a train that goes
from Russia to North Korea without stopping for SEVEN FUCKING DAYS.
Wicked!
trans-siberian express?
it runs from moscow to vladivostock or beijing. i'm pretty sure it does make stops, however.
i did 2½ days going from chicago to san francisco and that was quite trying at times, the thought of spending a week on russian trains is horrifying..
Ah, I know it stops
I meant one train (no changing). Still, it's absolutely nuts. A week on a train.
my flatmate has
a lonely planet book about it, it's really interesting but looks like quite an ordeal, with russia being so corrupt and all. not sure i'd enjoy it so much. the book's full of really awesome anecdotes from people who's gone on it, though.
i went for 20 days to germany, austria, denmark, switzerland
it was really good fun and i thought the rail pass was good value, considering the insane distances involved and the awesomeness of the trains in all those countries.
