Smelling like you did when you were 14
On a whim yesterday, whilst shopping in Asda, I purchased some Impulse body spray. I haven't worn this stuff for years. It's making me all nostalgic (something I know everyone round here loves to be). I smell so good, but not unlike a teenager.
What did you smell like when you were 14?
Probably
some form of Lynx deodrant. So, pretty bad.
I went to a girls school
and one of the girls in my class used to wear lynx to remind her of her boyfriend. ensuing result was lots of wistful looks as she wafted past everyone.
Impulse 02 was my spray of choice. get in.
O2 was my choice too
but this time I bought their limited edition 'New York' Fragrance.
I had 100% faith in you to come back with this reply
:D
02 was the best
as was goddess, which I use to drown myself in.
Brut Aqua(something) aftershave
and half a bottle of Lynx Arfica.
The ASDA version of Lynx
or something.
and also
of you guys on here, who still wears Lynx?!!
I find it bizarre you'd want to smell like a teenage boy....unless that's the market you're aiming for of course
My brother (25) still uses
it. I couldn't find my right guard the other week so I used a spray of his lynx. It smelled alright actually.
no no no
don't get sucked in. always remember, when you're working hard(a) Right Guards working harder.
you don't get that kind of promise with lynx, I believe their most recent campaign is offering you 'boom chicka boom boom' or something.
I think it's
boom chicka wah wah *shudder*
I don't really get it, but those ads are hideous
imagine
auditioning for that womens role, and then not getting it.
ok, i'd like you to do it a bit more like you're a mental, boom chicka wah waaaaaah
now that's a shudder.
I reckon I'd get it
I'd have given it my all.
Oh Lord no
I won't use lynx, I was merely at a loose end. Its right guard all the way my dear.
well I'm glad to hear it
I use adidas stuff
it's 'for sportsmen'
bwahahaha
I don't
I've found myself buying right guard for the past couple of years.
I'm using it at the moment
it was on special offer. THRIFTYNESS ABOVE STYLISHNESS
^ this
i always get given it for christmas. meh.
i still use lynx
cos i got given some in a gift set with shower gel and that sort of bollocks. so i might as well.
some people are fucking obsessive about deodorant though. society has a cleanliness fetish.
whatever my sister wore
body shop vanilla i think was the choice de jour
I have impulse, I use it as a staying somewhere else shower in a can device....
Lynx
Java
the least offense of the Lynx back in 1996. Christ I'm old.
M&S 'woodspice' gift set products.
did it smell anything like
Old Spice? It took us years to wean my Dad of Old Spice.
It smelt more like those pine tree odour eaters you get in smokers' cars.
Lynx Mirage
I met someone my age the other day who still wears Lynx. Surely something you should grow out of at the age of 17?!
yah see my point above
it's weird and wrong.
see my point above
my brother still wears it. Its new lynx though. As in, it doesn't smell as bad.
see my other point above
it's still wrong.
see my other point above
Its no right guard.
I see your point
and I raise you +1
Joop always reminds me of being 16
It seemed like a lot of boys wore Joop around 1998
yes Joop and CK
and cool water

I used to favour cheap roll-ons
Mmmmm stainy
Oh, Impulse!
I still get it for Christmas from my Nanny some years. See also: Charlie Red.
ralph lauren...
the blue one. I still buy it occasionally, my fiance still loves the smell...he says it reminds him of snogging on the tennis courts.
that's marketing in action
no
we did snog on the tennis courts when we were 14. honest. It'll be a cute anecdote to be relyed at the wedding reception.
I think it's really sweet!
Translation: 'I fancy Michael Chang'
i think i wore gillette when i was a kid
now i think i wear right guard but i'm not too sure, i never pay attention to what it's called, i just know what it looks like.
I always buy green deoderant. Green smells the best.
I always think Blue deodourant is the best
I may be wrong, as I smell kinda bad most of the time.
At
14 I smelled like burned rubber in a cattle market.
These days I smell like Plato cooking bacon in a mobile home
I sold AVON,
so most of their perfumes smell, to me, like this time.
I didn't ever really wear it, but 'So... Kiss Me' always reminds me of the PE changing rooms in first year.
Ive never used lynx
You should automatically treat anyone that does as a child.
odourless roll on stuff.
odourless roll on "ftw"
Why?
Why such a bad rap for Lynx?
it's for teenage boys
you wanna smell like a teenage boy?!! fine, go right ahead. weirdo.
Who says
it's JUST for teenage boys? Just because the advertising 'markets' at them means no one over 19 can use it?!
why does
it really matter?
Exactly
it doesn't - but if you wear it and your over 19 on these boards = worse than Hitler.
well I'm glad you finally seem to understand the gravity of the situation
Probably Lynx..
I still use it occasionally. Right Guard is the best though...Nivea isn't bad either.
body shop white musk
like everyone else at school. i think they've brought it back as some sort of nostalgia trip now - i want to buy some but i don't know if that would be a bit weird...
Well personally I'm enjoying
my nostalgia trip. It's stirring up all sorts of teenage hormones!
yeah
i think i would enjoy it too much, it would take me right back to those heady days of diamond white and dancing to 'girls and boys' in the indie disco...
and what could be
wrong with that?
absolutely
NOWT!
I think I might make it my mission
this weekend to cover myself in Impulse and find an Indie Disco.
that's some kind of suicide mission surely?!
because I would be swarmed
with 14 year old boys?
me too
although I can't stomach the stuff now. My friend had fuzzy peach, bleurgh.
I
end up having to use whatever deoderant I'm not allergic to. Lynx deoderant and shower gels make my skin bubble and fall off, it is like using napalm. Simple used to do a deoderant that was ok, though I think that was just air in a compressed canister. And because I liked it, they stopped producing it. I think I am down to Vaseline deoderants now.
Mind you, I didn't start using deoderants at all until I was 27
Did a friend provide you
with a basket of soap and deodrant products for your birthday and say "Here, I think you need this"?
Yes!
Although I wouldn't call him my friend, more of an Environmental Health Officer
JPG + Lynx Voodoo + Right Guard Scuba
= Perfect smell apparently. Now two of these products have been discontinued so I'm down to rolling in saw dust and rubbing bark on myself.
I like it
when someone walks past wearing a scent a girlfriend used to wear. You get a quick second of that really really nice feeling of unconvincing teenage romance and then you're back to business.
yves st laurent Jazz
or Cacharel pour homme - which is still my eau de cologne of choice
i used to wear Impulse 02
and then moved on to Tommy Girl.
also, i fucking love the smell of Lynx. in fact, i'm going to go and start a thread about it right now.
Ananya by The Body Shop
Lush.
I had those little perfume sticks that looked like lip balm. A genius idea. I miss them.
Also Impulse had a smell called something like Dynamique that I adored. It had a purple and green can.
Then there was always Whie Musk to fall back on.
faeces
did you rub it under
your pits?
it's well weird
using a deoderant you haven't used in a while. It actually makes you feel like you've got younger.
Tommy Girl anyone?
Ha! I only just noticed you bought Impulse on impulse.
Ho ho!
yes, yes
well done.
I've been wearing my Impulse
purchase for a week now, and it's really improved my mood. Well, that combined with summer.
Physio Sport
remember their adverts with little Paulo Di Canio and Little Ian Wright?
I think that was when I had a mate at school
who kept selling me fake watered-down Jean-Paul Gaultier fragrance.
Now, I use 'TSAR'.
I wore Impulse
body spray and it was a special Spice Girls edition. It smelt like vanilla, and I attracted all the girls
