and some of us still waiting to hear about bloody ryan adams at stone 'enge! ARGH!
I registered but with an email address that I can't access from work, arrghh! When will they go on sale?
not sure about online though.
that you just had to register by today?!
that's no good to people outside Oxford :(
on the job, mwahahaha
(that sounds ruder than it is)
it's still, really, meant to be a local festival. by doing this everyone local who wants a ticket gets a chance to get one.
i thought they were already onsale in oxford?
online yet. i wonder if there are lots of people at my local shop buying them...
cos no money.
But might now be able to afford it.
you are SO SO SO SO slow and crapat getting hints
I have never been to Truck, so this is an innocent question. Is the average Truck goer an indie snob?
i want corporate festivals only please. with kids on acid
And I don't think I'm an indie snob.
for not being able to list the tracks on the debut release by 'Trevor Trevorson and The Pooey Footsteps'.
before they signed to clive from dubai, right?
it's also before their fued with Mansfield and Sheffield.
the average DiSer is an indie snob.
Don't let it put you off though. Its 'localness' is endearing. i particularly like the Didcot Church sweet stall.
the reasons i won't be there are nowt to do with that. It was just a genuinely innocent question.
local means local, ie lots of bands from oxford / didcot / reading. it's why the festival was originally set up..
one of the least pretentious and snobby and most fun festivals i've ever been to. i can't rate it any higher, and i'll be sad indeed if i have to miss it this year.
I've been meaning to for a while and this would be the right time if it means getting a Truck ticket. Hmmm.
tomorrow, but i can't decide whether to buy a ticket before at least one band has been announced...
fopp in Oxford has sold out of its rather meagre 200 ticket allocation already. One of my friends got some from the music box on the cowley road.
lottie better find us some tomorrow or i'll killer her
i assume there will still be some in didcot / wantage.
i'll tell you a story, i once bought a truck ticket the day before the festival started in polar bear in oxford. which has GONE. rubbish. im going to drink my ale now.
silly. Most people are gonna go to Fopp- apparently rapture in witney had only sold 3 as of 2 o clock, so they must have loads left.
in Windjammer, Didcot last year on the 18th February. I was in the area on other business, by the kind of stunning fluke that might make one suggest that I'd arranged the other business merely to be in the area at the time, and Windjammer had seemingly just moved so they had loads left.
I have no idea if I'll like anyone who'll play, or (probably more crucially) if I'm going to know more than one or two people going.
But whatever. It'll most probably work out.
its the cheapest weekend of debauchery on the calender, dur dur
any bands until after it's sold out.
and its stupid.
i might have a cry.
I was intending to wait until they announced bands. Then I didn't get to go. I think it was last year. But yeah, it is stupid. Luckily drinking in a field with good people only 40 minutes from my (parent's) house is good fun anyway. So this year I gamble.
it's a great idea, because it means people go for the festival rather than just one band. like in 2005, when biffy clyro headlined.
a handful of the local acts. considering this year is going to be 'different'. my mum went to truck last year because of the magic numbers, there wasn't anything wrong with that, she liked everyone else she saw too. hmph.
they played Truck 8.
but only because it'll sell out within 10 minutes of the email going out to say that the tickets are on sale.
I've spent all day waiting for that email.
probably be a bit faster this year, but not that quickly.
for dramatic effect.
a maximum number of tickets you can buy?
I only want to buy 2.
if with adults? i.e. do I only need two tickets?
what i think has happened is that lots of touts/cunts have bought four tickets each in order to sell them on ebay. kill em all. will have to wait for the online sale i guess :-(
it's a really popular local festival.
i have to fill out an application form though :(
I tried for a press pass to no avail.
hopefully i'm qualified enough to stand around.
at about 10am on monday last year, when there was a call over the tannoy for "any stewards that are still here to please help" with something :D
the festival's on the saturday and sunday, do people normally arrive on the friday and leave on the monday or what?
leave on monday.
from camden right?
i get the train.
i thought the funbus would be... fun?
but i don't like cars/roads/coaches and only use them if i have to..
"Tickets do not go on sale online today - just local retail outlets. An annoucement will be made to pre-registered truckers shortly about when tickets will go onsale online."
