...I mean The Christ.
Should I watch this?
a troll just jumped out. what the hell is a troll doing there. what's that got to do with anything
also where is the evidence for Judas being paid anything?
A troll?! Okay, I'm definitely watching now.
I have built up a pseudo-jewish guilt thing.
it's religion. All you need is FAITH.
I'd crucify her. ON MY [abandoned]
but then vengance is always a great motivator! Hmm actually thats a good idea Mr Motivator as THE PUNISHER....
HAHA! Why the shit would I watch that?
It's a contest between Passion, Spooks, 24 and the new episode of the Shield that I already watched the other day but was so aweseom that I'm considering watching again just so I can scream MACKEY GETS RESULTS at the TV.
Go on. They killed his family, they shot him multiple times, he should be dead....but strangely enough isn't. Now he desires vengeance. He is THE PUNISHER...
for the sequel...
it's manipulative sanctimonious neo-con bullshit
I've only seen 5 minutes of it, all of which have been whipping. What's with the big ugly baby?
went on for ages. Ages. I didn't understand that character that looked like he was from Marilyn Manson's band either.
If you'd enjoy Jesus getting whipped (in a particularly nasty way) this may be the film for you. Otherwise avoid like the plague.
it lacks any subtlety and instead just goes for all out cheap shocks. not unlike a tacky hills have eyes style horror remake. utterly devoid of any real christian message, which mel claims was the point of it.
however, it did teach me one thing i didn't know about jesus - he invented the dining table !
Seriously, every single person I've mentioned this film to today has remarked on that dining table part. I think it may live on in legend.
the rest is trash
i thought there was loads of hysteria when this film came out about how gruesome it's supposed to be.
i'm not good with blood and that, but this film wasn't really really gory at all! not half as bad as a old arnie film or something.
Yeah, the only gruesome part was the bit with the evil baby. And even that was mostly hilarious.
it's was a bit like that baby in trainspotting, but with more laughter on my part.
where is he in the bible?
the evil baby was supposed to represent Death, because Death is supposed to be Satan's love child. Therefore the Marilyn Manson guy was Satan. And Jesus was going to die.
That's possibly a bit too in-depth an analysis for a Mel Gibson film. Maybe I've been reading too much Milton. It was all a bit confusing and stupid.
But not as 'controversial' as I'd hoped!
and you're probably correct about death too. well done.
but I watched it and thought it was v good at the cinema. The cat o nine tails incident made me wince though.
