Seriously, what is the point of moshing?
Most moshers annoy me and it gives me an excuse to twat one.
I enjoy a lil bit of moshing sometimes. I like to keep it at just dancing and jumping round.
the one time I went anywhere near a mosh pit I almost suffocated, couldn't hear the music.. fecking rubbish. I'm much more of an 'observe from a distance' kind of guy now.
and commit greater harm to white shirts secretly
is making your posts even more confusing than usual. What's goin' on?
threads that have made me go a bit funny, there were just too many nouns, I wanted to do a biro thread, but I thought . nononono that would be crass, so Ive set myself a kind of restlessboy challange.....except I have to say biro in every post
I dont like too many nouns in a row, they disturb me, a bit like corners, biros comfort me
I hate the mosh pit facists you get at some hardcore shows. The moshing seems to take precedence over the music itself and they seem to believe that you are inferior in some way becuase you choose not to mosh.
More bands should stop playing if it happens like Fugazi.
enough said. Moshing shouldn't be something that you aim to do. It just happens when a crowd is dancing and jumping to heavy music, and people just bounce against each other and surge back and forward. It's a great feeling, like being caught on the crest of a tidal wave.
the idiots who punch and kick? There is no excuse for that. I don't mind a bit of jumping up and down, but swinging feet and fists is a bit too much.
and if people are unnecessarily violent, they get kicked in the shins
smack a girl straight in the face during the cooper temple clause. My brother took exception to it and gave him an almighty smack.
there is a pit etiquette.
One of my favourites was me and my mate grabbing this young guy by him arms and yanking him up. Unfortunately we we're a bit over-zealous and he went up high, arched perfectly in the air and landed on him face. :S
I was refering to the arms flailing and almost actively hurting each other type moshing.
check out emily dickinson here eh
being at the front at the Trail Of Dead gig at Oxford was a joyful experience.
Not fun. :(
a magical forcefield then formed around my glasses and I was able to pick them up. That was quite nice.
but I understand its not for everyone. Blood brothers was awesome, everyone just dacning and having a good time. If someone falls over, its great how people pick them up, check they're ok. But at Bloc Party people didn't give a shit and were trampling everyone. That's not cool.
I define a moshpit as people jumping into each other and punching and kicking. I don't class dancing and jumping up and down as moshing.
they're kinda lame, unless its like slayer or something.
My friend went to see Slayer (I think), and they done a thing where the crowd was split in two, then ran at each other into a giant circle pit. One man took the trouble of wearing boxing gloves, and punched my friend in the face.
brief description please.
I think you can imagine how the crowd react.
(last year?) The crowd go mental. It looks like a cross between a riot, a battle during the war of the roses and a scene from dantes inferno.
They have lifted the restriction on youtube at work! Brilliant!
are only good for this:
throwing themselves at each other and rugby tackling, yes.
Rocking Out Responsibly
You should get on stage and give a demonstration on rocking out safely. A bit like how an air stewardess does the safety talk.
But without the fake boobs.
"please attach your own mask before attending to others"
with the intent to knock someone over is what I was getting at.
I've learnt to just let myself go with the flow, and survive that way. But I have started leaving the scrum at the front during gigs to watch from further back. But I think bands feel disappointed unless there's a heaving crowd in front of them. I would if I was playing heavy riffs and shiz and the crowd were just standing still. MOVE BITCH.
tour with Biffy Clyro, some dickhead was trying to start a fight with everyone in the pit. Nobber.
