looking mighty impressive
I said 2-0 pre game.
I recon there's another coming.
Utd all the way.
He didn't ask for the penalty. And he took it well. But he didn't ask for it. He doesn't cheat. Not like the rest of them. Football commentators are stupid.
blatent cheat, hes been playing too long with those italians
to take that back or I hate you FOREVER.
I never live up to my promises.
PSV were massively depleted and "we" could / should have had at least two, maybe more in the first minutes of the second half. Great result though. Mascherano, Gerrard, Carra, Finnan, Riise, Crouch and Reina all looking close to world class, I'd suggest.
So, if something terrible doesn't happen, what are the chances of Chelsea in the Semi with Scum, sorry Manchester United, in the Final if we get through. I am not sure I could watch.
We're gonna go far, that's for sure.
Xabi Alonso is the best person in the world.
So clean. So sportsmanly.
I'd love to go out with him for a few drinks. I bet he's a great dancer.
I think we should accept a massive bid from Barca if it comes.
I don't see any advantages to doing that.
him in that position with Mascherano, Sissoko and Gerrard and him fighting for two places anyway and for £20 million plus we shouldn't say no.
Gerrard seems happy and effective on the right at the moment and sissoko/mascherano serve a different purpose to Alonso. The great thing about Liverpool at the moment is the strength in depth so I reckon unless they needed the money selling Alonso would be a bit uneccesary.
come to terms with the new owners, maybe I don't really know if I believe we don't need the money.
We have recently struggled to keep up with Manchester United and Chelsea and in those terms we DO need the money. We have never been able to spend more than £15 million on a player and the top two have on many occasions. That is the difference, sadly.
I agree with you on the strength in depth thing and really believe we shouldn't sell him if money comes from elsewhere. We are really 1 or 2 players away from challenging for the league - certainly a 20 goal Drogba/Henry level striker and possibly another creative wing player.
it basically comes down to whether or not it would be worthwhile financially. I get the impression you're sorted for money really.
The downside to the big squad is that sometimes it seems like a big group of very good players rather than a small group of brilliant players like Man U/Chelsea have. Like you say, managing to sign a 20+ goals a season striker will close the gap significantly between you and them, I reckon.
I love my Champions League nights.
Great that AC drew too, deserved it.
Has Mascherano been allowed to play in the Champions League for Liverpool when he has played for West Ham this season in Europe?
And before anyone says that was the UEFA Cup, UEFA seem to treat both as the same competition, so if one player plays in either competition and then moves, they cannot play in the other competition. See Ricardo Rocha at Spurs not playing against Braga.
or is that just Football Manager .... ?
