can these people be trusted?
i am certain i will be homeless at some point in may...
Fuck that !
for viewings is illegal so they call themselves 'flat search' companies or something.
i just called up someone to arrange a viewing for a few places and they said 'all our properties are snapped up within a few days so it's best to phone on the day'..
i'm so confused
charging for that? what?
who charged you?
I take it you've had a gander on gumtree?
and every single thing that's vaguely appropriate is a link to one of these dodgy companies...
go to Dexters, they're no more inept/corrupt than any other agent around there.
and have to raise bail.
They're cunts. i went to one in London yonks ago
his office door was reinforced like a Robocop bank vault and he smelled of Wotsits....Never pay to play gigs, have sex or see houses.
seriously though - what went wrong?
to look around houses.
Which is, and should be, free in most other places.
use findaproperty.com and gumtree.com
they're all you should need and you don't have to pay for viewings....that's gei.
been looking. but both just have adverts that link back to these companies that want to charge your for 'membership' or their 'service'
there's virtually nothing on either of those websites that's both in my price range and isn't a link to one of these weird companies.
where should i start looking, then?
willing to live in a box, can't afford more than, say, £500-550 but would like to spend as little as possible.
hammersmith, shepherd's bush, west kensington. anywhere within 2 miles of charing cross hospital...
findaproperty.com that referred me to these companies.... hmmm
well usually they're quite good.
try gumtree either, a girl i work with is looking for places around here also and is finding it quite easy.
you should consider westbourne park also.
It's best to come down for a couple of days, and physically walk into the Estate Agents, they're more responsive and you should never pay.
I found a house in one day.
My second house I found through www.findaproperty.com , it's good but things go quickly.
yeah but i need somewhere cheap ... grrrr
a cheap thing may have just come in, grab it quickly!
i'll go in and they'll only have expensive places and i'll end up taking one like a mug..
what's your budget?
500 a month, roughly...
if you're happy to share.
Stop your gloomy outlook, finding a new place to live is exciting!
Google all the estate agents in the area and just go in, they'll have loads of stuff. Places on the internet usually go really quickly and a lot of agents just leave flats up there to attract new tenants, and will show you the new stuff when you meet.
Where are you gonna live, South?
West ... Can't be arsed to travel much so if i can locate somewhere affordable round here then i'll be happy with it.
i'm not too happy about the prospect of having to share, though....
stamford brook i *think* is pretty annoying to get anywhere from.
supposed to be a problem re: my living there?
never brought a woman home in my life. although one once followed me home...
that's a share, but it's all-inclusive so quite a good deal..
that's a good one.
blatantly in the middle of no mans land.
not far from either goldhawk rd or hammersmith.
and 10 to hammersmith.
there are no really good nightbuses that bring you to your door. BUT there are ones that go relatively near...
