Many team-mates of Otto's have commented that he always smelled very sweet. This is possibly due to Otto's enormous daily consumption of Fig Rolls. Otto is quoted as saying "I never leave the house without a packet. They're so versatile".
Ricky was chosen as 'Man of the year for GQ' from 1993 until 1997, a record which still stands today.
He is an avid fan of the British extreme grind band "Killing Kittens For Fun", which he often plays in the pre-match dressing rooms to get himself in the mood. He has recently requested for the band's most well-known song, "Tibbles Ain't Coming Back", to be played at his funeral.
Ricky is good friends with Stanley Collymore, another ex Southend United player of the same era. They enjoy county walks and can often be spotted having casual sex with a variety of county folk in secluded national trust car parks.
Ricky recently described himself as 'my own worst enemy'
One of the highlights of Ricky's long and fruitful career was when Ian Rush
congratulated him on the birth of his second child. In Ricky's autobiography, 'Otto On The Spotto', he described the incident as "a real triumph for sporting behaviour. That day we really did see the human side of football. I regularly sit in my kitchen and cry about it to this day. My wife thinks I'm crackers!"
