I laugh out loud every time i see that trailer for the abbey road sessions thing.
the funnest. times 10.
They sound like this
NEOW NEOW NEOW
CHUG CHUG CHUG
Dream Theater are the funniest band ever. They believe so passionately that shredding, cheap time changes and keyboards taken straight from the final boss levels of every Sonic game equal a good song.
They also wear leather trousers. The drummer's kit is bigger than Cumbria. And the singer - whose name is actually "cheese" - has red lights placed as his feet, so when he's singing a dark section of a tune (these are bits where the guitarist plays chugga riffs and the singer uses lyrics like "through the darkness" and "through the night" and "through the pain") the lights come on and he has a face bathed in 'evil' red light.
Dream Theater are one in several million.
they once supported themselves, and played the entire of Maiden's "Number Of The Beast" LP.
They also did it for Metallica's "Master Of Puppets". In both instances they played them note for note with no embellishment.
They are massive gays.
italian fantasy themed folk power metal titans Rhapsody Of Fire

They ran a competition in the early 90's on MTV to see Manowar on their UK tour and the ad consisted of them yelling "We are coming to the UK to drink yr beer, take yr drugs, fuck yr women and ROCK you!"
brothers of metal
kings of metal
sign of the hammer
warriors of the world united
battle hymns (three guitars, three drummers, an orchestra, and a choir - hail & kill brothers!)

You can dance a mighty jig to Luca Turilli.
as well as really funny. and deliberately funny. they don't take themselves seriously. it's great.
'iron maiden' by iron maiden. one of the first albums i ever owned. 'their first four albums only' set at reading was awesome too.
