Tonight (reservefootballcentric)
No-one ever gives a fuck what anyone else is up to, ever. That much we know.
I, tonight, am going to see Reading reserves v Fulham reserves at the MFI stadium among the M4. I've never seen a reserve match before, I will be cheering on Fulham like a lifelong fan.
If you are thinking of responding to this by telling everyone what you are up to tonight, don't bother because no-one cares.
Reserve football, eh?
I've seen a couple of reserve games
I loved them. One was Gresley Rovers v Rushall Olympic, and I was one of three paying customers. not a highlight of my life.
paying?
Yes meths, paying
everyone else was on the guestlist
I am going to start going to Arsenal reserve games
as they are at Barnet and its free to get in.
Our reserve team
is basically an under 19 team. But you do get to see FRAN MAREIDA! Oh yes.
Claus Jensen
and Clint Dempsey should be in the Fulham squad, according to my Fulham-devoted mate. I couldn't give a fuck who is in the Reading squad, as by definition anyone in the squad I hate with a passion
Reading
is like Swindon, only nearer London.
My hatred of Reading FC is a confusing beast, but rest assured they are my my second most hated team in the Premiership and possibly the country.
I'd say what a great place Newbury is in retort, but I'm not sure I can
Don't
go flexing your cinema-muscles at me! We do have a bowling alley down the road in our slightly-backwards cousin of a relative Thatcham, though. How much bowling can be done in Reading, eh? None*, that's how much!
*There aren't any bowling alleys in Reading, are there? I can't think of any
There's one
but it's not central, I can't remember what it's called, by the old 'Utopia' nightclub. (haha)
It's very, very, creepy, kinda like the bowling equivalent of a haunted fairground from scooby doo.
Yeah,
there is as well. Fuck it.
Utopia *snigger*
Back in the mid 90s
Utopia used to send people loads of free tickets on their 18th birthday. Did anyone go... did they bollox...
My Traineeship Supervisor's
son plays in goal for Fulham Reserves.
Who
is your traineeship supervisor's son, then? I'll give him a shout out, and I can only imagine with the number of people that will be in the crowd tonight he'll hear me loud and clear...
It was a doubled barrelled surname
something 'Meade'. He's pretty young, under 18 I think?
Not
Raphael Meade?
Raphael Meade
was an arsenal trainee. He was considered the next big thing for a month in 1986.
Pembrokeshire Reserve Division 2 Cup Semi Finals
I had to stand in as linesman as I was the only person there. I had a can of lager as a flag :(
If I lived nearer
I'd go to Arsenal reserve/youth games. The quality is pretty much as good as a League One game and it's cheap
Why
not go somewhere like Leyton Orient or Brentford? That is actual League One football and it's cheap
^
How I get vexed that more people don't think like this.
Amen, brother
The two best
games I've seen this season were Forest v Scunthorpe and Yeovil v Huddersfield in League 1 on Sky. And I can't wait to go to Peterborough v Hereford in a few weeks time. Lower League football >>> Reserve team football.
I'll watch any game
going, just because it's football. There's usually one or other side I want to win.
Cheap?
It's £17.50 to get into Brentford! That's a lot of money for a team who will probably be in league two next season.
Ouch!
I only paid a couple of quid more to see Reading last season. It's gone up now though. :-(
Because I don't support Leyton Orient or Brentford
I go to Colchester games reasonably regularly, which is good as they actually get the ball down and play. My local team is Southend, but I don't support them so I have no interest in paying to go and watch them
And yes, I'm an hour late replying to this
Its free
And loads of players
who within a season will be trying to get a game at Avely or Cheshunt.
I
should have read this post last night, really. Still, not bad for £3 especially with the players that Fulham had out, almost full strength.
Didn't think Greg Halford got into the game at all, although you could tell it was a reserve game as none of those on the edge of the first team for either side really got going
Now cease...
your bad words about Reading!
I still haven't seen Halford
play. I've heard mixed things so far, he's still pretty young though.
He's a good player
Definitely Premiership quality. Still not sure what he's strongest position is, although it looks like he'll be used as a right back by Coppell
He
seemed to be playing a central to right midfield position last night
I think at Colchester
he was an attacking full-back, I've heard he's versatile enough to play most positions. Looking forward to seeing him more in the 'future'.
