(sportcentric) Frank McAvennie and golf?
I just received this email. Apparently Frank McAvennie wants me to play golf with him. Who gave him my email address? Should we get a team together? Does Frank realise just how bad at golf I am? Isn't this really bloody expensive?
Hi,
I've been asked to contact you on behalf of Frank McAvennie. Frank had asked me to speak to you regarding a golf tournament for football fans he's currently involved in.
The Pro Club Challenge is a PGA endorsed golf tournament for football fans of the UK's top football clubs. Fans of each of the SPL and Premiership sides - will be able to compete in a series of Club specific heats on championship courses across the country.
Each club has a specific heat of it's own in which fans will be able to compete in 4 ball golf over 18 holes. Players from the past and present will attend each heat along with a cross-list of celebrities from TV. Sky Sports will broadcast the highlights of each heat nationally. There will be hospitality all day, as well as prizes for the longest drive, hole in one etc. Winners of each club heat will go forward to play for the PGA Pro Club British Title at one of Europe's top golf venues. The final will be played over 4 days with winners of each heat staying in 5 star accomodation - all expenses paid - alongside the celebs. Sky Sports will also broadcast the highlights of the final.
It costs £592+vat to enter a team of 4. I've attached a breakdown, for your perusal. There are specific heats, for each Club, at various venues across the country. You can check these by looking at the attached brief or clicking on the link to our website. If this is of interest to you, your friends or your colleagues, please let me know asap. In the meantime, thanks for your time, I hope to hear from you again soon.
Yours in sport,
Diane Harvey
