which one should i go to?
if anyone lives in any of these places i would be grateful for advice
im a little worried about getting murdered at blackpool
like bamos says - go to carlisle
have colleges that can issue degrees for some subjects, i think...
marine science is what im doing
hence oxford and co wouldnt be too good
If not I'd say Blackpool as it has nice places near by while there is no where nice that is anywhere near Falmouth. And all the best bits about Falmouth are best sampled during the summer when you won't be at uni.
stroking fishes and such
is getting easier? :)
i dont even have debt
is that a requirement
There, you're pretty much sorted. We'll furnish you with some everyman student tales and a Che Guevara poster and a few spare road signs for your bedroom.
like Southampton or Brighton which are niceish and next to the sea?
stick to the plan
im too stupid to go anywhere else
Falmouth has lots of sea and beaches too...
Coz I wouldn't say there's much in it in terms of which place is better to live...I'd guess Blackpool's cheaper...and good if you like fairgrounds.
in terms of loads of cheap stuff, but the nightlife leaves something to be desired - although there are a lot of student-run nights, I'd guess Blackpool would be better for entertainment. Falmouth (assuming you'd be on the Tremough campus) has loads of amazing new facilities, which I'd guess that for a science-based course would be important. Falmouth is pretty safe, and there are other good towns nearby, it's not isolated.
how close is it to newquay
i have friends there
and i can pretend to know how to surf
can you surf in blackpool?
it's a bit away from Newquay, I'll hazard a guess at 30 miles or so.
You can surf anywhere where there are waves, so you could do it at Blackpool, it would be shit though.
I can also allegedly surf...
it's about 20 miles from newquay, which is north, so not too far (unless you're relying on cornish public transpor)
going to falmouth.
if that helps?
can i live with you please
im house trained
i can cook
i love you
to do journalism. It's on the campus at the other end of Falmouth from where I'd guess you'll be. team_cooper what are you studying?
i live with someone already. I could put you in touch with some landlords who are parents/friends of people I know, who don't fuck students over if you want? although i guess you'd be in halls, no? seriously, penryn and falmouth are such cheap places to live in comparison to the more central parts of truro. My friend's going to Bristol, and her halls cost more than the rent of the flat we're moving into...there's loads of cool old cottages, and brilliant piratey pubs like the chain locker.
Only thing is, Blackpool has the illuminations and pleasure ground thingy, whereas we only have Flambards, which is not, as it wrongly states, "the best day of the week". It is shit, and run by 14 year olds.
I went there like 10 years ago! And even at that tender young age I knew it was shit.
god that was a terrible mistake. never ever go there. tis the place of the damned.
so itd be straight onto shared accomodation
but from what i looked at it does seem pretty cheap
and cold and rainy.
Both unis are utter shit.
the reassurance i wanted
But if you want brutal honesty, which I guess you do, I'm your man.
Maybe they're both good for your course though. Coventry is an utterly shit uni but the world leader in product design. Graduates off that course work for Nike, BMW, Nokia etc...
and make a decision that way
i dont trust you lot
as for another life changing decision
i have none
ill think of one
and when i do youll be the first to know
