I appreciate him more than you.
fact that I wasn't the first person in the crowd he hugged against Spurs, the fat sweaty lump.
my favourite striker in the premiership.
that he seems to have been the only West Ham player to give a shite about his side this season.
I can't think of anyone else really. He's been running around like a crazed fool. A top man, and top player.
and the stick he has got has been ridiculous. I mean, can you imagine any English player that could go to Brazil and play well straight away?
I have seen him being called a 'flop' about 7,000 times.
about the 'two Argentinians' splitting the camp etc. If that's not making him half a scapegoat I'm not sure what is.
Its the press mentality. If they don't start scoring straight away they are obviously rubbish. Can't settle in? Pah! Language difficulties? Get outta here.
I want martin samuel to die.
always used to make me angry. And Jeff Powell. And the one with the big head out of The Sun. Now I stick to Henry Winter and Matt Dickinson.
he gives his all every game. I loathe most football journalists, but Martin Samuel fills me with hatred.
Evo 6. Runs like a madman.
The post-match interview the other day was great.
And how many people made a Divine Intervention joke...
without him West Ham finished in the Top 10 of the Premier League and reached the FA Cup Final, whereas with him they're an overrated bunch of prima donnas on a crash course for the Championship.
and Ferdinand were part of a successful (by West Ham standards) squad last season.
They don't become non-triers/bad players overnight.
Obviously something is badly wrong within the club, and that seems to be linked to the takeover and subsequent signings of the two Argies.
Or the cliques...
Or bad management...
Or an early-season reluctance to play two world class players...
Or the fact West Ham overachieved last season...
a bad manager.
If anything he proved his mettle getting you lot back up in the first place.
The egos, gambling/drinking cliques and general billy bigtimeness around town go on at every football club, from Premiership down to Unibond level and below.
Obviously the signings caused a lot of unrest in the camp, not least with the manager as they weren't his signings!
and if you're saying he is then why has he turned Charlton around while you still go from bad to worse?
You won your first away game in March!
It's hardly what I'd call an improvement is it!
I refuse for one second to accept that signing two world cup stars is ever a bad move for a club.
They make an easy scapegoat, but the problems are far deeper than just two players who, for the most part, weren't playing anyway.
those two signings were nothing to do with the manager! He didn't want Tevez or the other one. Obviously the other players didn't either. I'm not saying that's a good thing if you're a supporter and you're watching things go tits up week in week out, but I think you have to look at the bigger picture. We've spent the last five years in a far worse situation, so yeah, I think I know what I'm talking about!
that no one else does then?
Didn't want arguably the worlds best young frontman?
That's bad management.
That's probably the most operative word here, as I'd argue that he most definitely isn't the world's best young frontman!
A team isn't about one player anyway, it's about building a unit and making them gel, which Pardew obviously did. The team spirit was destroyed because one player was brought in. He hasn't improved the team - results and league positions don't lie - so the consortium that brought him in are the ones to blame for that particular problem, not Pardew.
because he had sex with 2 of the players wives. That is the truth.
This is also why George Burley is no longer Derby Manager too.
ala Curbishley/Gritt or Houllier/Evans.
Pardew did fuck a couple of the wives though.
He just allegedly gave him a kicking in front of the rest of the squad.
