What are you doing tonight?

RockNRollMassacre [Edit] [Delete] 62 replies 19:24, 16 March '07

I'm staying in, listening to Marnie Stern and doing all my homework so I can spend the whole weekend reading. I bought Last Exit to Brooklyn from a charity shop today.

Everyone else?

  • Watching Comic Relief and/or Ugly Betty

and trying to find excuses not to go drinking with my flatmate who's only been home 3 hours and is already making me want to kill.

    • Requiem for a Dream

was the first book to make me properly cry. I'm quite looking forward to reading Last Exit to Brooklyn.

      Your friend's dad sounds cool!!!

    • sadly,

three hours of ugly betty/a confederacy of dunces looks most likely.
my other option being GOING OUT AND GETTING WRECKED AND PUKING UP ON A GIRL LOL!!1
as appealling as that sounds, i only have 15p. oh well.

      fishplums | 16 Mar '07, 19:33 | X
      • i really need to read A Confederacy of Dunces

        is it good?

        I love words like confederate.

        RockNRollMassacre @fishplums | 16 Mar '07, 19:41 | X
        • i'm about halfway through it and yeah,

          it's a really good read.
not a lot seems to have happened in the story so far, but it feels like it's setting up for something.
i'll report back in about a week when i finish it. (i am literally the world's slowest reader)

          fishplums @RockNRollMassacre | 16 Mar '07, 19:49 | X
      • oh, add looking at pictures of the pipettes

        from sxsw to that.
        and maybe tidying my room.
i sorta wish msn would break every day. then i could have a little productive period before going back to being a vegetable.

    • Watching comic relief and playing WoW :(

      yes_ | 16 Mar '07, 19:34 | X
    • Same, actually.

But I'm listening to Malajube rather than Marnie Stern. And will do my DT folder later on (i.e through the night, pumped full of red bull, then sleep all saturday, and be able to stay awake during LOTR ALL THREE! [sigh] tomorrow night)

Also, watching taped GILMORE GIRLS. It's gone really dramatic lately. And it's featured some awesome band namechecks lately. But Rory should be with the slightly rogueish guy*, and not Dean - I hate him now.

*she should really be with me. I'm not at all rogueish though :(

      TheWildSon | 16 Mar '07, 19:35 | X
      • ...I should stop rambling.

Basically - Gilmore Girls, DT, and Malajube.

        TheWildSon @TheWildSon | 16 Mar '07, 19:36 | X
    • Well I could

Go to a 'James Bond themed' 18th somewhere and have oh such a great time.

Alternitavely, I could stay in, prepare myself for practice/quali and be glad I'm not walking around town looking undeniably ridiculous.

      PocketMouse | 16 Mar '07, 19:35 | X
      • walking around town looking undeniably ridiculous is FUN

and all part of being young.
i always do it, and not just for fancy dress.

        sophiacherryx @PocketMouse | 16 Mar '07, 19:41 | X
        • dressing up

is basically the most nauseating, ridiculous, embarrassing, irritating excess of student culture in the 00s.

          RockNRollMassacre @sophiacherryx | 16 Mar '07, 19:43 | X
          • ^this.

But I'm no fun at all, so my opinion's a little void on the matter.

            TheWildSon @RockNRollMassacre | 16 Mar '07, 19:44 | X
            • no

it's so annoying and pathetic. There is nothing fun, funny, quirky or exciting about wearing fancy dress on a normal night out.

It makes you look like a ridiculous student wanker.

              RockNRollMassacre @TheWildSon | 16 Mar '07, 19:47 | X
              • sorry :(

              • I agree completely...

                But yeah, I'm no fun.

              • Yes, basically.

I hate that aspect of uni.

              • oh but tristan

you're going to be such a great ridiculous student wanker. a different kind to the type you mention, admittedly. but still. i'm one at the moment. it rules.

      • I'm wanting to get immersed in something.

Like a book or a game. I've been on Zone of The Enders, a game for my PS2 which I bought around November for like £2. Its ok.

Then I went skipping outside with my dog, coz the wind is strong and mild and I love it.

But now, I'm thinking about that fucking disgusting thread of wishpig's.

I hate her for it. So much :(

Now listening to the new Modest Mouse on myspace.
Will undoubtedly think about Sunday league fixtures at some point and contemplate whether this will indeed be the week I break my leg for real.

        • i need to finish packing.

im doing that to the sound of all my ryan adams and whiskeytown music on random play.

if i get chance, i will read some of either unbearable lightness of being or a confederacy of dunces. awesomely, i was able to get a confederacy out of the library, which is pretty cool, my college was one of about 3 that had it. yeehaw.
