with the french team !!!
Is Domenech crazy ?
And no Trezeguet !
is a great little player. But I agree he shouldn't be in the squad.
we need someone like Dacourt...
also...Trezeguet = overrated.
but he scored nearly 30 goals for France in his career...
he was still overrated.
He's scored goals on a more consistent level than anyone I've ever seen. He was pretty special.
only has one medal to show for his entire career. Ruined Newcastle as a football team and was a shit captain for England.
because he chose to play for his home town team rather than Man United. Who knows what Man U could have done with him. He didn't ruin Newcastle - Freddy Shepherd ruined newcastle.
to be the big fish in the small pond. I hate the man. He was a dirty player as well.
He was an absolute cunt.
But probably the greatest goalscorer I've ever seen.
people kept assaulting his elbow with their heads.
And if he'd have kept said elbows down England would've beaten Argentina in 98
Just seems that everytime I see him he's terrible.
that played badly all game but will score an ugly goal to make your team win...
The type of player a team needs!
I thought they were both African.
as El Hadj Diouf
Diaby and Diarra are two really common name in France...
And Sinama Pongolle in the line up.
we have at Middlesbrough - A tall defensive midfielder, meant to be pretty decent.
He's playing for the reserves consistently now, I reckon he'll make his first team debut by the end of the season. It'll be hard to push Boateng or Cattermole out of the squad, but if he's good enough...
was he trained in France ?
This world is crazy !
Wenger's insistence on playing Diaby out wide. Is he just trying to accomodate Denilson into the team? Why couldn't Walcott play their last night?
Granted, Diaby scored but that's NOT THE POINT. Also, I like him. I think he's going to develop into a really useful central midfielder
eurgh. What a spack
that wenger plays him out wide either.
Denilson+fabregas+diaby = best midfield in the world in 2 years.
Fran Merida and you've got yourself a deal. I can't wait to see him breaking through next season
New four year deal the other day. Woop!
He is going to be special.
yes. Especially when I pay £1200 a season to watch clowns like Julio Baptista inevitably fall over when it was easier to score.
If I had to choose between two players of equal ability, one being foreign and the other English, I'd obviously choose the English player
But that's me. I'm not responsible for running a business. The difference in transfer fees is (mostly) unbelievable. We got Denilson for £3m and Walcott for £12m. On current form, you'd have Denilson all day long
I want Arsenal to be successful. If that means have mainly foreign players then so be it
I'd love to see more English players playing for us. But Wenger summed the situation up quite well when he said his job is to make Arsenal successful, not to worry about passports
You get the odd exception, like Spurs getting Lennon for £1m. When things like that happen it's frustrating that we don't go in. But as much as you want to criticise, Wenger has done enough over ten years to earn the trust of the supporters
both have the wrong attitudes.
I'm not so sure about Bentley. I think Pennant was allowed to go because of his indiscipline, and I'm not actually sure whether Bentley would have been good enough for Arsenal
He's good, but I'd rather have Adebayor and Van Persie in front of him. You may well argue that he's better than Baptista, but I'm reluctant to judge him yet. I still think he could be a pretty good player for us
big if, mind.
Bentley will always be a big fish in a small pond. If he played for England he would be hopelessly out of his depth.
he'll be pretty good. He's powerful, versatile and (believe or not) can score goals. It takes plenty of players about a year or so to get used to the Premiership. Neither Bergkamp or Henry exactly set the world alight straight away at Highbury, and they've turned out to be two of our greatest ever players
once bergkamp found his feet (after seven games) he played well.
Baptista is shit. I don't care about his record in Spain.
Seriously, (and I think I may have bored you with this before) I saw Vela play for Mexico against Brazil in the U16s World Cup final. They dicked on them and won 3-0, with Vela pretty much controlling the play. It was ridiculous. The commentators were all "I've literally never seen a youth player so advanced"
About a month later, we signed him :D
At this rate, we're in good hands for another ten years or so
we are trying to bring him in before the end of the season.
It was a shame to see Lupoli and Stokes go, but kinda inevitable. It wouldn't have been fair on them to keep them. I think Bendter can off something different to the team
despite being played on the left wing and having been injured for a month or so.
What with Dos Santos at Barcelona and the Mexican league improving every year, Mexico might be World Cup dark horses soon.
Dos Santos was the other one (couldn't remember his name). It was like watching two men and twenty boys. And I'm thinking Brazil's U16s can exactly be that poor
there's loads of young players coming through in latin america now that could be potential world beaters.
seen this kid for brazil?
Is it that Kurlon one? The one that runs around with the ball on his head and gets taken out?
There was some other kid I saw about a year or so ago that was Brazilian and ridiculously good. He was 13 or something stupid, and knocking in free kicks from all over the place
he only made his debut last year for Internacional, but happened to score 2 and set up 2 more in the first half alone.
pretty much every team in europe is interested now, and with good reason really. in the world club tournament he made puyol look absolutely silly when he came on as sub.
i think Kerlon's been badly injured lately, so whether he can even reach Robinho status is a bit negligible now.
he selected them only to piss off Mourinho and Wenger...
His moans about the national team are growing a little tired, but mostly his points are valid. Such as what is the need in playing Henry for 90 minutes in a friendly just before the start of the season? (and twice more after that)
A record for me...
is going to be a star of the future. He'll take over Makalele's role at Chelsea when he leaves.
Just you watch him grow....in stature obvioulsy, he's only a wee little fella.
Diarra is going to be the business. He's suffering a bit because of being played in any position that Jose needs cover for. But when he plays on the right of midfield, he looks genuinely good.
I would have thought that more of a factor in knackering Henry was bringing him on last week when he clearly wasn't fit.
