I always feel like going to one of those all night places in the middle of the night. An empty supermarket would be so creepy, like a zombie movie or something.
Somerfield is scary. I'd be around Chocolate Sundaes too much, the temptation would be too strong. And the manager, Mark, is really evil. Alice is nice though. and Maureen is like a robot, she's been there so long, everytime she says the same things, EXACTLY.
...Is it creepy I go there so much that I know everyone's names through name tags?
Still just working in a supermarket, just the people making your life a misery will tend to have posher accents, and even with staff discount everything'll be needlessly expensive.
they don't employ people with unnatural coloured hair. So even, if I do decide to go back to brown or ginger or blonde or something, I shall never work there as a matter of principle.
I wouldn't work in Waitrose, because there are none where I live.
Might work in M&S, but would prefer not to work in a supermarket at all, I like my little shop, despite it paying nothing.
Stop being so lame, middle class wannabies heh...In fact it depends upon the area in which said Tesco is located, my brother worked in a Cotswolds Tesco AND he served Kate Winslet.
and yes, it is owned by the workers and this month we get our bonus. The workers, or 'partners', share the profits of the business and get a percentage pay out of the profits. This year we get 18% of what we earned this year, which is about 9 weeks pay. Working in waitrose is ok, but i work in one in a very posh part of London so all the customers are rich cunts. And dont assume that because they are rich, that they are not tight with money.
yes
Depends on your reasons...
Instinct

i ahve it on good authority that one should NEVER work at tesco.

That's true?
Mine closes at 8:30. It's shit.

it's really not that exciting.
if anything, there seem to be more shelf-fillers at night than there are customers in the day.
work on the checkouts?
100% sit-downability.
I'd work at Tesco, but not Somerfield.

The bagpacker guy came in
as a customer, and then when he was packing his own stuff, they were all like "don't forgot to double-bag that wine, John".
I wish I could've made that story more interesting.
i'll take that

waitrose is owned by its workers
partly? i think? so it's better maybe.
I think you're thinking of the co-op
or China. Neither of which are really owned by their workers, nor usually that great to work in.
Though apparently waitrose is too
.

M&S gave me a good wage and a CHAIR
No standing up at M&S.
I couldn't work in a Tesco.
i'm the same
and i'm definitely a snob, so that possibly makes you one. oh well, it's better than being "one of them"
i work in waitrose part time
and yes, it is owned by the workers and this month we get our bonus. The workers, or 'partners', share the profits of the business and get a percentage pay out of the profits. of course not
that's usually the reason why they are rich in the first place ;)
